I hope that piece of lyric also finally comfirms all those rumours that Prince would have gone through some plastic surgery himself unfounded.

Of course, the punk ass could also be lying. wink

I died laughing when I heard him say that at the concert. I thought the rivalry had ended, obviously he saw that interview and fell over when he heard MJ tell that blatant lie.

Still doesn't say he's never had any plastic surgery done.

I really dont think Prince has had any surgery coz he dont look different to when he was younger,If he has its been very little I think he's just been lucky with his ageing or lack of.

'that's the other guy'? i don't hear that at all. He kinda just trails off after 'nose done'.

besides he could be talking about anyone. If he is talking about Michael, he needs to rest that shit. I mean, Michael's never resorted to lowering himself and baiting Prince on record has he?

As for what you consider stupid, other people may find interesting. The current '1984 PR Vs Thriller' thread in this forum has had a lot of responses and views. Nobody ever said you have to read them.

If P really says that and if he really refers to MJ
I wonder if that's what the man needs to be in the news again
That would be sooooo bad.

Saying that there should be no michael/prince rivalry is ridiculous. Both have done a lot to make it happen since each were aware of the other's talent and stardom. Michael wanted to do Bad as a michael/prince showdown, Prince declined. I think it's always been a semi-friendly to not so friendly rivalry that has gone through many phases. I also think they see each other as opposites in so many ways, like superhero and supervillain type mentality. Nobody cares about this rivalry as much as the two participants. These days hardly anyone cares anymore but Michael has named his children Prince, that may not have anything to do with the rivalry but I would state that each has ripped the other off and even pushed the other to achieve greater heights. So it's all good.

And maybe Prince never has had his nose done but he did change his name to a fucking stupid symbol. Also, he's treated both fans and associates like shit over the years. I think I'd rather have my nose done.

'Cos I'm tired of Prince's MJ bashing. If Prince is so secure within himself about the talent he has then he shouldn't lower himself to name calling. Clearly he's got a bug up his ass about it as he's slagged Michael off in My Name Is Prince, Fascination and now on his latest album, too. It's getting boring.

And it may be "just a song" but it's a cheap shot.

lol @ "...and the truth will set you free". Don't go all cosmic on me, please. wink

When Prince bashes MJ, it makes him seem like he was jealous to MJ...I mean, MJ was still much more popular than Prince. And MJ never says anything bad about Prince or any other artist. But well, whatever. Those 2 guys are my all time favourites. They could learn from each others SO much. I wish they co-operated...but that must be impossible. lol

Has Prince actually said anything bad about MJ or is it people just reading too far into song lyrics etc. I dont know myself. The only thing I heard P saying about MJ was at a press conference and I cant completely remember what was said but it was complementry, and he said something to the effect of Michaels ok leave him be.
If P has done against MJ that was anything but a joke"WHY" I find it hard to understand. Its well understud that P is a competitive person but would he really want to be in MJ's shoes. Yes he has sold more records he is more famous, but all this has come at a price and the poor fucker(not in the literal sense) never gets any peace ,he is constantly picked on by the tabloids, I'm sure dont understand why Prince would join in with it.

I have never in my 26yrs of following Prince heard him say something bad about MJ. Thats what makes me laugh the most. If you know something that I don't know then please let me know, but I think that I'm right on this one. If you can produce a quote then I'll be the first to say that I'm wrong. Good luck.

"So called king gives birth to so called prince". From Fascination.

"The only reason the album was called Bad was because they couldn't fit the word Pathetic on the sleeve". Prince - 1987.

My Name Is Prince is pretty much a dig at the King Of Pop moniker - even tho' (despite what some people will tell you) Michael didn't adopt it himself.

So there's a few for you. wink

You're pretty much reaching with that last one. Has the second quote been substantiated by Prince himself, or is it that you're just eager to believe what you've read?

Ye so far theres nothing to suggest that P has said anything really. To me ,My Name is Prince is just kinda P havin fun in a semi arrogant way, why the hell has that song anything to do with MJ it would be just be to obvious and I really dont think thats P's style. I doubt P is even that interested in MJ.

The first one is true, the 2nd one I don't believe because I don't think that prince would listen to that crap of an album. Plus I've never heard that before, and the 3rd one like I said in my statement earlier. Everything that was said was true. I could see if he was making false statements but everything is true and maybe if Michael would wise up to a few thing he might not be in such a mess today. Both physically and personally. I wish him the best but you have to admit that Michael is a mess.

"My name is Prince, I don't wanna be king,
'Cos I've seen the top and it's just a dream,
Big cars and women and fancy clothes
Will save your face but it won't save your soul"

"U must become a prince before u're a king anyway"

Kinda speaks for itself really. And considering when the song was written (about the same time as Michael was forever being introduced as the King Of Pop) and taking into consideration the (ridiculous) rivalry then... yeah, I think it's a dig.

As for the comment about the Bad album, it was well circulated back in the day. In fact, it even made a few "Quotes Of The Year" lists. I'm surprised none of you have heard it before.

And Bull, I'm really not meaning to be rude but if you really think that P & MJ don't check each others' work out then you have issues of your own. wink

I heard it, first read that in The Sun 'Newspaper' bizarre column all those years ago '88 i believe. It was also in SKY magazine. Funny how two years later in the Rolling Stone interview, Prince was quite nice about MJ's music, if only for a sentence or two.

I don't believe it personally.

Come on! There was some obvious rivalry back in the day. If just to be the world's biggest male pop star during the 80's. These days, beyond checking out each others' albums, they probably don't give a fuck anymore. But don't fool yourself into thinking that there never was any rivalry. rolleyes
