His birth certificate reads "Prince Roger Nelson", not "Prince Rogers Nelson". So his birth name really is legally Prince Roger Nelson (and it might be even up to this day), but it's assumed what ended up on that paper was merely a mistake by whomever was responsible for scribbling it up. This was the 50s after all. | |
