Has anybody heard Musicology played on UK radio because i haven't! I have been listening to Radio 1 in the UK whenever I can over the last month or so. In all this time i have not heard Musicology even mentioned let alone played.
Has anybody else noticed this or is it just me? Have Radio 1 got a grudge against the man or do you think that it is just their policy to play only "hip" tracks and they don't consider Prince "hip"? I've also been flicking through all the Music channels available through Sky in the UK. Again not seen the video played or even a mention. I am a little surprised by all this considering all the publicity he's getting in the States right now. Even more so when the Musicology single is being released today (I think!). How can a non-musician discuss the future of music
From anything other than a consumer point of view?

I've heard Musicology on the radio once or twice...can't remember which stations though.
You can catch the video occasionally on MTV Base, and it's also now been added to the playlist on Kiss (the TV channel) too. I must've seen the video at least 6 or 7 times now.

He's got reasonable rotation on BBC Radio 2, The station with the largest audience in the UK. Radio 2 tend to make or break records these days NOT Radio 1.Musicology is also their album of the week this week. MTV Base and Kiss are playing the video alot too, so i've read. Not seen it on VH1 or Regular MTV, but then i never watch them anyway.

Although I haven't heard Musicology on Radio 1, today they had a text vote between
Sexy MF Alphabet St. Raspberry Beret to see which one would get played. The DJ was heavily pushing for Raspberry Beret, and it won. Radio 2 has played Musicology and also Cinammon Girl. They have also made it their album of the week. Capital Radio has also played Musicology (The DJ Magherita Taylor was taken by surprise at the early fade-out of the single edit and promised that she would get hold of the album version and play it, as it had 'a very special ending')

Release date for single has been pushed back to 3rd May in order to gain increased play on mtv/vh1 etc and radio. I have heard and seen it a few times but compared with the likes of Britney, Eminem, Beyonce it is nowhere near the amount of times they have been played. They're on so much it makes their songs annoying! (even more).

Radio 2 LOVES Prince...
They had a special afternoon today, playing tracks released during 1989 to 1991 (their radio frequency is 89 to 91 FM dependant on where you live in the U.K). Well, they played 'Love, Thy Will Be Done' (Martika), 'Cream' and 'Love Is Contagious' (Taja Sevelle) all in one uninterrupted sequence. I hate 'Cream' but it was great to hear so much Prince-liness on the radio. I think they may have played Sinead O Connor's 'Nothing Compares 2 U' later in the afternoon, but I had to turn it off because they started playing Phil Collins and Roxette.

The video was on CDUK last week, introduced by Jamelia. The poster advertising the new album is all over the London Underground.
