The Da Vinci Code and Prince's Sex+Spirituality Has anyone read Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code?
There's a lot in the book about the Priory of Sion and the ancient rituals linking spirituality and sexual expression as well as the power of the feminine divine. It made me wonder if Prince researched this sort of stuff as inspiration for some of his music. Does anyone know? For example: Apparently, there was an ancient jewish ritual involving lovemaking. It was believed that man communed with God during orgasm at the precise instant the mind blanks. The feminie divine thus was the pathway for man to commune with God. The Early Christian Church in large part destroyed the power of femininity which threatened the male dominated society of the Romans..... Meanwhile apparently Buddhists describe nirvana as like 'an infinite orgasm'.

I did read the book, and I did really like it. Being the fan that I am, it did occur to me while I was reading that Prince may have researched the topic himself. It was strange that Prince always said that sex and God were connected....and then out comes this book saying that Prince was on to something.....sex and God are related, and none of us saw that coming. We knew all along! Strange, but I'm more comfortable around you naked.

funny you mention that.. PRINCE is actually mentioned in DAN BROWNS prior book ANGELS AND DEMONS.... about further adventures of Robert Langdon... so he is obviously familiar with prince... there is a part in the book that he talks about famous people known only by one name.. and he also makes a mention to the cymbolism in the Symbol...
