On its 26th birthday: For You in relationship to Musicology From the 1 minute 6 seconds of For You to the 4 minutes 40 seconds of Magnificent, it's been a long, fun ride over the last 26 years, from April 7, 1978 to April 7, 2004. Has anyone else released as much music as Prince in that period of time?
To celebrate For You's 26th birthday, name some other Prince tracks that would have worked well on For You, and name some For You tracks that would have worked well on Musicology. If Prince had released these tracks as downloads through the NPGMC only now, what would you think of them? I think you should change the title of your thread, since it's the same as Handclaps', but the post raises some questions that deserve a topic of their own. Also.... BOW DOWN, DAMMIT! www.prince.org/msg/7/88291 "For You" should've been longer. He was doing some fantasic vocal work on that song and it's only about 1 minute long! I hate when he does that...once we're getting in the groove, the groove ends abruptly!

Maybe by bumping this thread we can start more discussion on the album that changed it all. Comparing For You with Musicology, how has Prince's music changed? Has it really changed that much?
