i have seen Musicology 5 times combined on Vh-1 & MTV in the last 4 hours...Sony is doing a wonderful job because i dont ever remember a Prince video getting this much airplay..not even during the Purple Rain days

Maybe the fact that the song is great plays a part too.

Sony hypes it and prince actually came up with the goods = airplay.

I had MTV on last night and my six year old daughter asked me when the song with the "little kid in his room doing the splits" was coming on.

So, that video is certainly hitting the spot!, and fair play to the backers, it is getting lots of airplay, and to the non P fan, I think it's a grower.

Well, I agree that its great that he is getting this kind of airplay, but I think your memory is a bit muddy. The Purple Rain through SOTT stuff got way more airplay. In fact, when "Raspberry Beret' debuted on MTV, it was literally played every hour on the hour for four days straight. Many times MTV would play two or three of his videos within an hour. Still, this is the most airplay a song of his has gotten since "The Most Beautiful Girl In The World" back in 1994, so its all good.
