Why the Silence?

I know this is a bad question, but does anyone know whhy all the downloads on kazaa for musicology are silent?

Im not asking as a bootlegger, just someone who knows they are.... I was wondering whether Prince has developed an anti - bootleg system into the CD's...

Before you all give me shit, I have my own, paid-for, download of the album.... Not very impressed with it either....

I just picked up the info along the grapevine and wondered whether P had actually devised a fool proof way of preventing filesharing of his music.... If so, he should flog it to highest bidder! He'd make a fortune!!!

I noticed this. I reckon it's P's strategy. Certainly pisses you off if you spend ages downloading silence. Best to buy your tracks legitimately....

I read somewhere that this is a new industry tactic.

I have been good and have been waiting for the album to come in to the shops, I can not wait for the feeling of buying a complete PRINCE album, that I have not heard any songs from, the last time I did this was C&D. but last night after reading the reviews I reloaded Kazza back on to my Machine and download the album... and every track was SILENCE, was I pissed???

NO.. this was a sign for me to wait, enjoy going to the shop on the day it comes out, ripping open the CD and placing it in to my CD player and hearing the tunes for the first time from the CD PRINCE wanted my to listen to... having the smile on my face lol that only a true fan can have...

this IS a new trend, Madonna did the same sort of thing for AL (only you downloaded a track of her swearing at downloaders) and Jante's camp leaked a load of tracks that were nothing but 10 seconds of a song looped over and over and over

it's pretty smart if you ask me
