The Chocolate Invasion Starts Here!

Several folks have pointed out that many of the songs on The Chocolate Invasion had been previously released even got angry at me for being excited about hearing them for the first time and being excited about them

Then yesterday two people who clearly download everything from the website noted that most of these tracks had been reworked.

In any case I had heard High & U Make My Sunshine before. High is still weak. You Make my Sunshine has been reworked and has more Uhmmm! and Gospelly sound. Its is also about 3 and a half minutes longer than the original download

As for the others on this disc I had never heard but many folks dismissed my claims that they were hot and were castoffs that were heard years ago

Well

Judas Smile has been reworked no question about it..the beat to this track is hummmming. The song is hot. Clearly a record that would be played in a big city club. The one downside is that there is a section where Prince begins this high pitched rap which IMO really does not work in the song. That being the case the dance track is so hot it makes the rap portion mute...It even gets a little weird (crystall ball kind of quirky) with chants of ....."The Chocolate Invasion Starts Here" And that part does work. Its a hot record and from what I am hearing is not the same version that was available for download previously

Sexme/sexmenot - Same thing the beat has been changed...definately a clubbier feel. Not club like house or techno...but more RB club like the song Music from Moadonna or even Toxic (just not as POP as Toxic) Its a good dance record. Perhaps even reminisant of the beats (both songs) from Kelis' Milkshake Again there is a brief rap section which he really should have left out

VaVaVoom - Also has been reworked with a different drum track. Its nice sort of an updated more masculine Cream. Very funky song..you know that sexy Prince sound meets garage rock

Super Cute and Underneath the Cream are also outstanding songs

I would have taken the 6 songs I mentioned edited two of them (Judas Smile Sexme) and put them on Musicology removing Pimp & Circumstance and the boring A Million Days..and I would have strongly considered removing Reflection

OK, I'll admit my ignorance and stupidity now, so no need to flame. I cannot find Chocolate Invasion on NPGMC. I see something called C-Note - is that the same thing? duh

Nah, that's very different. C-Note is some live tracks, the first letters of which spell CNOTE.

IMO, it's better than the Chocolate Invasion. The CI is good-ish and has some great tracks but isn't as good as Musicology or CNOTE.

When you go to the download page, it should be the fourth one along. If all you see is Bataclan and C-Note, then for some reason you're on page 2, and so you'll need to press the button on the left which says "More Music".
