wow... the mere suggestion of this really takes me back to the days when i did this sort of thing (calling MTV and radio for requests) for my favorite artists 
i gave up on Prince after Emancipation. i just don't have the energy for it... but soldier on  | |

I'm quite sure the reason it's on there is NOT because of the # of votes (probably relatively small compared to the # of votes the other more "mainstream" artists get) from us fans but because it was just "premiered" this past weekend. I don't how they're going to do it, but Sony needs to really push & market this song and make people dig it if this is going to be ANY kind of hit. | |

the TRL crowd is probably not Prince's target audience... i voted anyway, remembering how back in the days of the original MTV, when it was just about all videos, all the time, all sorts of 70s people were having comebacks, making videos, and getting appreciated by us teeny kiddos... could the same thing happen today? | |
