I know that at one point JJ/TL and Prince were at odds. Anyone know if JJ/TL made amends; or are they still on the outs? [Funny thing is: I think a lot of her earlier stuff DID in fact sound like Prince.] Its obvious Janet was a Prince fan. There is no way she would have gotten them to produce the entire album if she wasn't a fan of work that they had done with Prince. Joe just didn't like him and probably thought Prince would stop by and turn Janet out. Lol. | |

I did too and I started getting upset and about to cross him off my list for dissing Prince. Then I thought maybe Prince and Joe Jackson did a tune together and got excited! Y'all dig up those old exposes...Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis were trying to do their own thing and got back late and Prince said, "you're fired." Where Joe came in is anybody's guess. It's called publicity I guess. They were bummed, but they did more to spread the Minneapolis sound (and now that I'm older I wonder if Prince didn't do that on purpose, cuz they needed to grow and expand as well) than Prince cuz of Janet trying to move away from the family.
