Today I got this 1 track promo-CD of the Musicology-single.

The 2-track retail single will be released on April 12, and will have On The Couch as second track. Catalogue number will be 674923-1.

Jeez, is he doing the covers himself these days as well?

The album cover was bad enough, but this must have taken all of three seconds in MS Paint to pull off *fingers crossed* this is just the promo cover, the actual artwork for the commercial single.

I hope the single doesn't retail at more than £1.99. Its a bit of a rip-off otherwise. I can't believe there's going to be no new B-Side.

Wow! The time is listed as 4:26 - but on my download it's only 4:24 !!!!!

If I were a really sarcastic kinda person I'd say.."Good thing it's all about the music."

But since I'm not, I like the simplicity of the cover design.

Justin - this is just a radio promo...it's not what's going out to stores.

Though I certainly hope that when/if the retail single is released, it doesn't look like this. This has got to be the ugliest, cheapest, most amateurish looking font that's ever been used on a Prince album. Hell, I even preferred the blurry courier font used in the Crystal Ball booklet over this. Considering this is his "big comeback" effort, I really think NPG should reconsider the fugly art we've been seeing lately.

What has Prince now got against original B-sides - I used to love buying his singles because tehre was always something new but that semed to stop with The Morinng Papers

Well Im pleased its only a 2 tracker of songs I already downloaded, thats saved me £4.99 at HMV.

Original B-Side would've been nice, failing that, there better be remixes of Musicology or it simply won't sell, radio will soon take it off their playlists and the knock on effect is the album won't sell! Supposed 'comeback' over at the first hurdle!

I hope he and Columbia recognise how obvious that is.

Maybe there will never be another B-Side seeing as he now has the facility to charge 66p for one-off tracks. Its just not the same.

Hey. Is it possible Magnificent will be the b-side? Perhaps that's why the sudden appearance on NPGMC. Prince trying to keep members from screaming bloody murder because they didn't get first dibs.

No they're not! Plenty of artists still release non-album material on their singles.

Actually alot of relevent artists are still doing b-sides: Radiohead, Tori Amos, PJ harvey etc.

Yep. It sure is. I blame that guy Sam that he's been letting do graphic design since he left Warner's. It has his "signature" all over it. Passe stolen/bootleg fonts downloaded from the web passed through one Photoshop filter too many. After all these years you'd think that guy would actually visit some designer sites and LEARN something.
