Once nasty, pop Prince makes nice [NY Daily News] http://www.nydailynews.co...6971c.html
Once nasty, pop Prince makes nice By DAVE GOLDINER DAILY NEWS STAFF WRITER Maybe Prince really was reading National Geographic in the backseat of his "Little Red Corvette." The supersexy pop legend, who shocked parents with songs about sex and masturbation in the 1980s, says that today's pop culture is way too X-rated for his liking. "Now there's all these dirty videos," he says. "We're bombarded." "When I was making sexy tunes, that wasn't all I was doing," he adds in an interview with Newsweek. "Back then, the sexiest thing on TV was 'Dynasty,' and if you watch it now, it's like 'The Brady Bunch.'" After several years of selfimposed obscurity, Prince is back on the charts with a new album and nationwide tour, which includes three shows this summer at Madison Square Garden. But don't expect Prince, now a practicing Jehovah's Witness, to try to outshock the new generation of lip-locking, nipple-baring, marry-on-the-fly stars. "My song 'Darling Nikki' was considered porn because I said the word masturbate. Tipper Gore got so mad," he said with a chuckle. "It's so funny now." Prince, 45, who was out of the limelight because of a feud with record companies, recently was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Ever the glam king, he still wears makeup every day and his hair is combed to perfection. But he also quotes from the Scriptures, mentions Jehovah in his new songs and skips some old fan favorites that are too risqué for his new persona. "There's certain songs I don't play anymore, just like there's certain words I don't say anymore," he says. "It's not me anymore." Originally published on April 5, 2004

You know it's good that he is into his religion & all. The bad thing is that you will no longer hear some of the music that made him what he is. YEAH! YEAH! i know it's his past etc, etc, & he has moved on. It's a shame but i liked the nasty Prince better.

The thing of it is We would be boring if we all stayed the same right. So sometimes different is good, It just depends on how people like his differences, let's just see what he does. It's good to be involved in religion because it helps people and they want to learn what it's all about. .
