Anyone here bored of Prince singing the same '80s stuff...

...and wish he'd sing more songs from his '90s output??

Definitely good to hear him perform Shhh, but I wish he performed more songs from other '90s output!!

Well he does do "7" & "Shhh" - Come was more of a fan lp, the average listener probably didn't even know that album came out.

The setlist is satisfying & totally logical. The only thing I'd request is to swap out Insatiable for Adore. Insatiable was the only semi-dead spot in the show & I can't really explain why. Maybe it's a placement thing (where it is in the setlist) or something but Adore would bring the fuckin house down. Can't believe he left that one off confused Hell, even better - swap Insatiable for CALL MY NAME!! mr.green

U're right. I really could go for NOT hearing I Feel 4 U and songs like that(keep DMSR and Controversy around). I wish he'd drop all of that Purple Rain stuff. He's played those songs EVERY YEAR since 1984. I'm gettin sick of 'em. Little red Corvette is cool and all, but U've got GREAT NEWER songs...lets hear those...is that too much to ask sad

1980's or 1990's material don't matter. Just to hear him sing is what I need.

Not very artistic, that's for sure. Wish Americans had more music sense. Better to enjoy good music, not go on some nostalgia train.

I'm not tired of the 80's stuff at all (ok, maybe Purple Rain and at times Kiss). I only wish he would play "17 Days" on this tour, and bring back "Mutiny".
I am convinced Beyonce's career would not be where it is, if she had dark skin.

Prince, I think, should make peace with his 80s music and accept it as just another part of his catalog instead of thinking of his 80s music as his "hits." Once he can do, it becomes easier for the audience to begin to accept his 80s, 90s, and other music in his setlists. As long as he keeps releasing press releases emphasizing his "hits," that's what people are going to expect to hear.

Bowie has a back catalog and he has learned how to make peace with his hits and mix them into the setlists without making a big deal out of it. Springsteen and the Stones do the same.

I agree that the Purple Rain stuff can be toned down. But let's face it, that's what the casual fan knows. Why please them? Who knows. He could just do Doves, and Purple Rain if he must, for the millionth time. I'd rather hear stuff off his other 80s albums. I like the new version of Sign O the Times, and hearing Sometimes It Snows was real nice. The main problem is, is that he has sooooo much music, there never is enough time to hear all the songs you want to hear.

TurnItUp

I'm never bored with Prince singing his 80's stuff or some of his 90's stuff. I want to hear the hits not the misses. Some of his songs on the later albums are great and I don't mind hearing some of the new stuff, but I want to hear the songs he that made him a household name. On his ONA tour, that was the only disappointment to me, he didn't sing enough of his old songs. He said this was the last time he was going to sing his old stuff to make room for the new
stuff. Go to that show. Prince is ever-changing. Be glad he's not like MJ.

This is billed as a greatest hits tour, So I knew he would play a few more cuts from Purple Rain, Because That's what all those pretend fans want to hear.

I would like to hear more 90's and 00's cuts, but our true Prince will return after he gives those cry baby's want they want.

P.S. I was suprised he did Let's Work that was and still is the joint.

He can play anything he wants I will be in the house when he come to the Palace in Michigan.

Real Music for real music lovers. P show them who really is the Baddest.

I understand, Prince is pleasing the casual fans and newer fans by singin' the hits but I wish he'd incorporate more 90s songs in his concert. When I saw the HitNRun tour, which was about the time the Rave album came out, I don't even remember him singing a song from the Rave album...

Uh, no...not with that performance Monday nite. Now if he were balding, about 40 pounds overweight with a gut, I might find the 80's stuff sickening.

I just like to hear stuff he hasn't played live much before, if ever. The last tour was great, hearing 'Empty Room', 'Strange Relationship' and the TRC material.

It would be a treat to hear an acoustic 'Crazy You', or a storming 'Le Grind' to open the show.

I would love to hear him perform live ... If I was your girlfriend, Dolphin, Dark, 2 the 9's, Morning papers, Money don't matter Tonight, Condition of the Heart, Diamonds and Pearls, Cream, Peach, Forever In My Life, Thieves In The Temple, Computer Blue, Darling Nikki and Sexy MF (which I know he won't sing). I can go on and on.
