So, then, why should it be different to download it off Kazaa? i'm going to the concert at the end of April, I'll be getting a free copy... I would argue that it is not free. It is included in the cost of your ticket to the show. Make me feel tiny if it makes you feel tall, but there's always someone cooler than you. - Ben Folds

chookalana said: They are not fake, just protected by WMA DRM... No they are not. I have converted my files downloaded from the club to MP3 and they play fine. As soon as you burn the WMA tracks to disc as an audio cd the DRM is removed. Ripping back to HD as mp3 does not transfer the "protection" to the resulting MP3. ps - support the artists by purchasing the product - you leeches. If you do, and since songs like "electric intercourse" or "wonderful ass" have never been released, yet are owned by many on this site, are you throwing stones at glass houses while living in one yourselves?
Nope as I stated - Kazaa and other sites have their purpose. I.E. rare, bootlegged, out of print material. I have copies of the released but no longer locatable extended versions of 17 days, I wanna be your lover. Hey, I've bitched and moaned enough to Warner Brothers and Prince that if they really wanted to make some dollars with little effort, rerelease the extended and alternate versions as a cd collection. Yet, you should know by now, the fan is not always listened to. But come on, the album is 7.77 if you are a member of the NPGMC . Yes, it took me a day and half to download using dial-up - but I got it. Sony and Coilumbia have the cd on "sale" for $12.99. I know record stores like Newberry Comics will have it for anywhere from $8.99 to 13.99. Walmart Stores will have the cd for dirt cheap!!!! It's not about rocks at glasses houses. It's about using common sense. The people who received a "free cd" vi going to the cinema or a concert paid for it through the ourchase of a ticket. _________________________________________

No, it's directed to the person/people complaining that their stolen downloads don't work. I seriously doubt that anyone asking for tips on how to find the "real" tracks on Kazaa is going to buy the cd. Yes, Prince is giving away the CD at concerts and at Monday's simulcast, but the cost of the CD is included in the ticket price. So, we paid for the album . . . it's not a "free" giveaway, it just seems that way . . .
The only ways you should be hearing this album are: you attended a concert, and got the CD, you attended the simulcast, and got the CD, or you downloaded it officially . . . I guess if you have a ticket for the concert, in hand, then it's acceptable to hear it from other sources. As long as you eventually get/buy the CD from Prince and delete your unofficial copies . . . I personally don't agree with KaZaa, or any other P2P networks, because most people "lie" to themselves about what they're doing. You don't buy the CD because you already have it - even though deep down you want to do what's right. Granted, I have used KaZaa (not for years), but I went through a guilt trip, deleted all the songs, and bought them either from iTunes or bought the real CD's. Hopefully anyone who gets the Musicology album unofficially will buy it, and support Prince with some cold hard cash. Then we can keep him funded to hit us with the next batch of great music . . .

KaZaa is illegal. If you can't wait for the real CD to come in stores, download it from NPGMC. You don't even have to be a member to download the music . . Driving 56 MPH is illegal too in most places, but I bet you do that too.
