So, basically what you're saying is that you stole some ice cream, but now you're complaining because it doesn't taste right . . .
KaZaa is illegal. If you can't wait for the real CD to come in stores, download it from NPGMC. You don't even have to be a member to download the music . . . Sorry, I'm on a self-righteous kick today.

Well, at least it shows that the copy protection on the wma files actually works.

Sorry, I'm on a self-righteous kick today. Kazaa isn't illegal. File sharing is. Might seem like splitting hairs but oh well. I'm not a Kazaa hater, I think it's a pretty good tool to weed out bad albums. I still buy most of what's worth while. But se7en is right. You can get the thing for $9.99 today without even being a member. The fact you are on a Prince site leads me to believe you are a fan of his. It's not like this is a release by Joe or R Kelly. If you can't come up with 10 bucks to hear this album then you'll have wait until they put it on a listening station at Virgin. Bringing Together Five Decades of R&B/Funk/Soul/Dance

Not to condone Kazaa or anything, but someof us are unable to download from NPGMC. I have AOL (my explorer doesn't work right) and also have a 56k dial up modem. Downloading the album is impossible for me. I have decided to wait until 4/20...but after hearing all the buzz on here I was definitley thinking of cheating with Kazaa before I heard the trax were blank on there.

That blows Turn aon a radio and you'll hear the title track. Give me a freaking break. If you could download the complete cd for free you'd probably forget to buy it. Why should you go to sonymusic.com and get the cd for $13.00? Thirteen dollars is just to cover the production/art work right? Kazza is good for finding those obsecure recordings that are out of print or region specific tracks these idiots record industries decide just isn't good enough for the rest of the world. To do something as low as to attempt to download the record because another dumb is trying to give it away is.... Look, I don't mean to ream you a new one butgive the rest of us a freaking a break. We're sorry you can't download it from the site. We're sorry you have to wait. But DO NOT give the record companies, the so called government, and Prince more reasons not to make what we want accessable! Look at what happened to Xenophobia. Because a bootlegger put on the net, Prionce refused to release it or the album it belonged. Stop being so damn selfish. _________________________________________

Well, I DO think that downloading doesn't affect real good artists. What I do is to download what I want and then I buy the cd. (I love real good quality) I have a real big collection... But the thing is that downloading has also helped me save my money, you know... those who have "the song" and the rest of the album is crap. On the other hand, I really like the booklets and the credits... So I can connect the artists I like... you know, the drummer or the guitar player played in this song with this artist and then I find him with another artist... Anyway, see this: "The Internet, and downloading, are here to stay... Anyone who thinks otherwise should prepare themselves to end up on the slagheap of history." And hey - isn't he GIVING THE ALBUM AWAY at his CONCERT?
So, then, why should it be different to download it off Kazaa? i'm going to the concert at the end of April, I'll be getting a free copy... The Last Otan Track: www.funkmusician.com/what.mp3

the title track is at the iTunes store now too - the #3 selling pop track and the #19 track overall. iTunes lets you legally weed out the junk with the legal and instant 30 second previews

I don't think this has anything to do with the copy protection, if the files that are blank are mp3. Once you#'ve burnt the tracks to an audio cd the copy protection is removed, so ripping them back to mp3 will result n a perfectly playable file. It's more likely that the blank files are put out by record labels to track download activity and discourage further downloading. Rmember Madonna putting out those files that said "Buy the cd" or something? All orgnotes and emails requesting trades or how to acquire bootleggage will be ignored. - The ThreadKiller -

The files said "What the fuck, do U think U R doing?" and there was a contest amongst fans for making the best track using the sample. It was actually rather funny. I understand the eager 2 hear the new songs. I'm eager myself but waiting (im)patiently for the april 20th, when I can get it at the wrecka stowe with booklet and everything (perhaps the video as suggested on an enhanced CD). I refuse 2 buy it twice, so I'm just gonna sit here and listen 2 some old stuff until it comes out. I'll have another glass of you.
this time on the rocks. | |

I have a question. Do any of you who are so opposed to downloading from sites like kazaa have ANY UNRELEASED, LIVE(other than ONA), OUTAKES, DEMOS, etc? If you do, and since songs like "electric intercourse" or "wonderful ass" have never been released, yet are owned by many on this site, are you throwing stones at glass houses while living in one yourselves?

OK, i'll spend $10 on tracks that aren't playable anywhere else but my computer without some work and without the packaging..that deal sux! The tech is here for us to preview new music, we should utilize it! And i'm sure most of the people who would download it from P would also get the copy that you can read, see, and fully enjoy... I'm glad a lot of you are so righteous

difference is those songs you mentioned are not freely available to buy, therefore Prince loses no money. Musicology is available online at a reasonable price, anyone seeking to download it off a P2P site for nothing are shitheads IMO. Buy it and go through the nightmare of trying to burn it like the rest of us did!

I've found every song over at Kazza, except 4 "Illusion, Coma, Pimp and Circumstance" All of them seem 2 be fake. Does anyone know something else that could be added to the search field to get the real one? I've already got my tickets for the Knoxville show and I've got the album ordered from Amazon so if someone can help me find this song I would appreciate it, I hear it's getting a great review!

You cannot sit here and act so f'ing perfect when you are making up your own rules. You are just a hipocrite. If you download music (released or unreleased) off a P2P, then you are stealing from that artist.... Be honest NOT hypocritical.
