5 things that are great about the album "Musicology"

1. Just when you thought the title track was Prince' umpteenth James Brown jam the 2nd half of the song melts into the a fierce barrage of the "Minnapolis Sound" synth lines and drums.

2. Minute 3:53 on track 4

3. The linn drum joyfulness of "What do U want me 2 do?"

4. The fact that a song as beautiful as"Reflection" is the unofficial Prince/Wendylisa reconciliation song.

5. Hips & Lips, Chips & Whips
"New Power slide...."

1. Do onto othersss what they do ontoo youuu + synth riff (if i was the man of your life)
2. Illusion Pimp Coma and circustance chorus
3. There isn't any song that i skip
4. No interludes like: "welcome to the dawn this is the beautiful experience" and no darth vader
5. This is a (up/mid) tempo album not a r&b oriented ballad album

01- The song "Call My Name" was worth the $7.77 download
02- It's FREE at the shows!
03- The song and jazz exit on "If Eye Was The Man In Ur Life"
04- "On the Couch"
05- and Hips & Lips, Chips & Whips
Socks still got butt like a leather seat...

1 - Hips & Lips; Chips & Whips
2 - He's gonna put her on the same diet that Missy went on!
3 - beautifully layered vocals on Call My Name
4 - Put the spoon down honey, C'mon let Mamma feed U
5 - Do unto to others as they do unto U(sounds alarmingly vengeful) biggrin

the more i listen to "the marrying kind", "cinnamon girl", and "a million days", the more it reminds me of "C & D". and thats a good thing. i'm glad he realized he can be more than a straight up, retro-funk act. the guitar shit is killin me! dead

and also, can i say, that john blackwell's drums are fucking SLAMMIN, especially "if i was the man in your life"?

that is all.
now i know what this is all about. now i know exactly what i am.

1. Brevity
2. You can hit the "random" button without getting lost in the plot or running into segues
3. FUN! Ain't nuthin' but a party, y'all (...to an extent:))
4. No overload of guest appearances
5. Individual songs shine through (as opposed to an album that shines a whole, but with only a few songs that are actually god on their own)

1. the concept behind Marrying Kind - there will always be that one man/woman that we say if the chance ever occured, we do all we can to have them fall in love you

2. I love the smpling at the end of Musicology

3. though it's a bit choopy, I absolutely consider What do You want me to Do, the Marrying Kind, and If I was the Man in your Life to be one song - yet separate

4. the album though it echoes old work is nothing like the infamous Vault material (perhaps)

5. he screams, he screams, he screams...the man used to give me orgasm when he screamed...it was great to have it happen again

• Musicology, the song, is great. I hated it at first, but now it has grown on me and I fully appreciate and enjoy this track. Especially since hearing the end, where it picks up and uses sampling.

• A Million Days - it's a great song, but more than that it relates to something I just went through. My girlfriend went home to California after visiting me in Detroit, and I literally packed up my stuff and drove out to CA to be with her. Wierd.

• Reflection. I loved this song when I heard it, and love it now. I want the acoustic version, someday . . .

• Cinnamon Girl - political commentaries and an urgency that I haven't felt in a Prince song for a while . . .

• The fact that this sounds like an "album" - like he recorded all the songs at the same time, and none of the songs were "borrowed" from other projects. That may not be the case (in fact, it probably isn't) but it feels that way . . .

1. The fact that when Musicology, the song, is playing my ass is
doing this: booty! and my head is doing this: headbang

2. Dear Mr. Man ~ check the sig

3. Illusion, Coma, Pimp & Circumstance ~ He called her Flo, as
in RESCENT, that ain't right

4. The accompanying movie concert!

5. The fact that this is a CD I'd be glad 2 buy...and IT'S FREE!
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

1. JUst a Great fcking album again. I had almost lost faith but with TRC and now Musicology I am truly renewed.

2. Cinnamon Girl. unbelievable mix of "Starfish and Coffee", "So Far So Pleased", and "Elephants & Flowers". Nice jam Prince

3. A truly Prince sounding song in " What Do U Want Me 2 Do?" kind of like "BAllad of Dorothy..." revisited. Oh and I love the transistion from this song to the magnificent "The Marrying Kind" awesome

4. "A Million Miles" nuff said

5. "Mr. MAn" Ok Prince is really back. "socializing"

1. A Million Days, His vocal delivery and the lyrical content of this track are outstanding, not to mention the really passionate guitar work.

2. What Do You Want Me 2 Do? The Linn Drum work is too good, the bassline, the jazzy guitar solo and his subdued vocals are phenomenal. I really love the outro too, the segue to the Italian dialouge is very chill and fits the mood of the song.

3. Cinnamon Girl-Nice pop tune with great lyrics. He takes a serious topic and arranges it around an upbeat instrumental track. He's one of the few artists that can work magic like this.

4. The Marrying Kind/If I Was The Man In Your Life, Great Vocals, good lyrics, funk/rock and can someone say John Blackwell! The drums are killing me, and the synths on If I Was The Man In Your Life are too funky. The jazz outro on If I Was The Man In Your life is tight, the bassline during that segment is nice!

5. On The Couch, Sexy ballad, with an excellent vocal delivery.

That's right. I like the whole album pretty much, but this one kills everything else. All the neo-soul crooners wish they could pull it off like this.

This and the following track, Dear Mr Man, are classic Prince to me. There I said it.

Make that the last four tracks. All amazing.
