Best Songs Prince has written

With everyone wrapped up with how Prince neglects his writing chores.
What are the best songs he has written? Personally I think the best song
writer right now is Alanis Morissette.
My favorites are

In love-Baby-Lonely-When we're Dancing-Controversy-Ronnie talk 2 Russia
Little red corvette-Free-Something in the water-All of Purple Rain-Hello-She's always in my hair-The ladder-Condition of the heart-Parade (all of it)!

I guess you could say after parade his writing got spotty. But after that
there has been more than a few gems. Like Friend-lover-sister-mother-wife,Love we make, and Dinner with Deloris as well as Had you. Come to think of it I really liked Chaos and disorder I rock should have been on Emancipation instead of Jam of the year.
We all want a big hit again because
we want to relive the Hysteria & Pandemonium we experienced
when Purple Rain was Hot. Actually, he doesn't care if it happens again or not.

ya mean dried up grease pops? WTF!!!

Strange Relationship...cuz it came at the right time. So many of his songs do that: Positivity; I'm Yours; Adore; On the Couch, which I am listening to right now, and he is CROONIN' his ass off. LAWD, LAWD. He did it blues acoustic Monday night and he was croonin' then too. This man is sooooo bad. Even channelled some Al Green in there! (Got that gospel-like pie-an-ah goin, and the organ...and when Prince says he's wants to go down south...LAWD, LAWD! I hear 'retha in there too.)

Snake, I think he writes the same ratio of genius to crap nowadays. The only differenence is, in this day and age, we here a lot more of it. Back in the day, we all thought Purple Rain was da bomb, however, he wrote lots of mediocre stuff then too, we just weren’t privy to all the outtakes like we are now.

You can look at NPS and see “Mad Sex” or Emancipation and see “Mr. Happy” or you can see “Come On” and “Holy River”, respectively. And you said after Parade his writing got spotty? I personally think Sign O The Times and Lovesexy are two of his strongest efforts, barring none. He still writes with confidence, wit, and funk. Check out “The Marrying Kind” or “Dear Mr. Man”, they’re tight.
