I know this is a matter of personal taste but Musicology is a weak track!

IMO, this song is not very strong. It's likable but nowhere in the league of some of the other songs on this album. I'm already skipping it and playing the album straight from track 2!

I think that Cinnamon Girl, What do you want me to do and Reflection are filler tracks and they too are nowhere near the league of the rest of the songs. Certainly there had to be outtakes during the Musicology sessions that are better qualified to be on this album!!!

Yep your right it is matter of personal taste. Its an old school throw back that is perfect vehicle to reintroduce Prince

I think its hilarious that so many of you don't like that particular song but love the anemic "A Million Days" A song so weak I didn't even bother burning it to CD

It is a matter of personal opinion

This record starts off great IMO with Musicology and honestly I skip the next two and then I'm set and let the record ride all they through ...although I am tempted to turn off Reflection. Apparently we agree there. I also feel that he easily could had taken VaVoom, So Cute, Judas Smile (minus his embarrasing rap), and Underneath the Cream and had an absolute home run

Oh well..I guess we have to settle for a double

Underneath the Cream is the only track I'll agree with ya on. A Million Days isn't knocking me over but I like it a hell of a lot better than Musicology, Cinnamon Girl, What Do you want me to do and Relfection combined!

Nah... Musicology is funky and I get a nice vibe -- like you, I started skipping it, but now that I've explored the other songs. Once you get over some of the newer tracks, I think you'll like Musicology a little better. The same goes for What Do U Want me 2 do -- face it, Supa.. you may not like these twp spmgs much because they've been around for a while At first I didn't care for What do U want me 2 do, and I found myself playing the track in my head today. I put it on when I got home.

Cinnamon Girl's music is not too appealing to me -- same old riffs. But the theme, my friend, is something else. Not too many songs out there who touch on the subject of racial profiling in the context of 9/11. I think Prince made it as poppy as possible to deliver that message. I'm still not too fond of it, but I see what he's trying to do.

I totally disagree. Musicology is pretty much constantly in my head nowadays. You think I'm kidding! See those words in my sig? They go round and round and round...

I guess it is a matter of taste. I listened to Musicology 6 times 2day alone, I know he has made better-complex funk joints, but muthafuck..I love this freakin cut. I hope he gives us an extended remix of this & other trax and dip the trax in a LoveSexy bucket of muti-layer funk. I'm still tryin 2 listen & absorb the rest of the cd. I just hope Prince adds at least 5 more trax on tha April 20 Sony release or/and a DVD of the complete 3/29/2004 LA Show. And when are we going 2 see the Musicology video? eek
Don't u want to come , 3121. It's gonna be so much fun, 3121. That's where the party be, 3121. Y'all can come if u want to, but u can never leave!

Anxiety

I like Musicology the way I like U Got the Look. It's kinda mindless and goofy, but fun and catchy too. I don't expect it to be "The War" or "Days of Wild", and as such, I enjoy it for what it is. shrug

I have no patience for "musicology", the song, but "what do you want me to do" is a good track

I like "reflection" but it lacks something, probably it´s too short
