"Love Jones" & "On the Couch" Do you think that Prince's mention of the movie "Love Jones" is in response to the mention he got in "Love Jones"?
"You know that brother puts out an album every week!"

Well, it IS a great movie But I suppose hearing himself mentioned in it either warmed his heart when he watched it or he heard he was mentioned, watched it & dug it. The director's gotta feel good to have his flick mentioned in a Prince song

Thanks for the compliment. Full disclosure: I directed love jones. My gf and I were tripping when we heard the line in "On the Couch" at Staples Monday night. I've been a fan from way back and I did insert that joke in the movie hoping P might get a laugh -- so I guess he paid me back. So yeah, I've been feeling pretty good for a few days. Further useless love jones/Prince trivia for anyone who cares...
The first song in the movie, Dionne Faris' "Hopeless," was produced by Randy Jackson, who has since become (amusingly, to me) a big celebrity from co-judging American Idol... but the drummer is none other than John Blackwell. I didn't find this out until JB and I met about a year ago and he told me -- of course I got a laugh out of that. And the lovemaking scene was originally cut to "Shhh" -- which at the time, you will recall, was known primarily through Tevin Campbell's cover of it -- but this was '96, during the "angry Prince" phase. Despite repeated attempts to contact P for a clearance, he never responded, so we had to take the tune out and replace it with the Maxwell song. I didn't change the edit (a mistake, perhaps, on my part), so whenever I see it, I always think of how the rhythm of the cutting works much better with Prince's song playing.

that's kinda ironic, cuz Prince has been performing "shhh"on this tour. The Org is the short yellow bus of the Prince Internet fan community.
