Prince Plays a Stratocaster?? Was that a strat with a whammybar that he was playing?? Anyone know anything about this guitar? I like his playing better with that rather than habibi. but the hohner i think has the best sound. | |

It looks like a Strat with his preferred EMG pickups and a Floyd Rose. It looks stupid, it sounds bad, and he should immediately put it down and lose it. The Hohner and the Cloud are his guitars, his sound, period. I shouldn't have to tell him these things. | |

I admit that I know next to nothing about guitars, but the Strat sounded pretty f***ing awesome on Question of U last night. That's all I got to say..... I've gone to find myself. If I should return before I get back, keep me here. | |

it looks stupid? who cares how it looks. its about how it sounds! i think habibi looks pretty silly, but when he plays it, that is another thing. although he plays the hohner much better. i thought it sounded great last night (and i like the powder blue - but who cares how it looks). | |

There have been a few threads about the Strat and from what I recall it was bought in Japan,Prince claiming that it looked like a one his friend had when they were younger,I have also read that he aint so keen on Strats and thinks they arent too nice to play in his opinion. As for it looking stupid "why" the Strat has to be the most popular guitar ever and has been used by some of the greatest players ever,I could understand it being described as being boring but stupid? | |

I think Prince is a great embassador of Fenders 2nd most popular guitar, for a very flamboyant man the Tele is the most simplest of designs and often gets put in the group of old country players(which pisses me off). I have a Tele myself and its a versitile and easy guitar to play ,I can understand Princes attraction to it. I would actually like to see Prince play another Tele in another colour ,If he wants he can even lend mine.  | |
