Musicology Album - something I dont get...

Im up to Call My Name - very 'safe' album so far... the one thing I dont get is this whole 'real musicians" stance when the tracks boast loops, drum machines etc.

I was kinda looking to a stripped down/raw sounding album... but you cant please us all the time smile

Ok, I'll bite. I don't blame any producer for using the tools of the trade (loops, drum machines ects) to get the job the done in the studio but when the when it comes to playing live do the tracks still hold up? Prince has always used some kind of synth or drum machine so to use it in production on this album is not out of charater. Young producers today need to check this cd out and rediscover the joy of making music over the persuit of mass manufacturing "hits". Oh and I should add that Prince will sample and loop himself to get a certain sound...can R.Kelly say that or is he too busy sampling and reselling the Isley Bros their own music?
Who ever said Prince has lost it - has lost it. The Kid's still got game!
