Just got back... what can I say, it was AWESOME!!!

I headed to the King of Prussia PA screening expecting to be with a mere handful of diehards. It was incredible to see that the show was playing on two screens to packed theaters! There was a real concert atmosphere...

The screen had a live shot from the venue from about 20 minutes before the show, allowing you to feel like you were there, and getting close-ups on all the celebs present: Eddie Murphy, Kiss, Stevie Nicks, No Doubt, Babyface and on and on...

They had a countdown clock, and as the time approached 11 we were in full throat. It was so great to look around and think, "These are my people - they get it just like I do!" It was just a great time...and then the show started!!!

Yes it was the hits, but it was so much more. There is a spirit of celebration at this show; a real atmosphere of joy and fun. The audiences (both in the theater and the arena) were electric. The musicanship was fantastic, the transitions and jams were great fun, and the big screen allowed every nuiance to be experienced. Prince is finally back where he belongs - live and schoolin' the masses! Acoutic guitar set ROCKED, especially 7 and On The Couch. Other highlights were Break It Down, Let's work, The One...ah, the whole dang thing!!!

Got the CD afterward which I sampled quickly, and I would summarize what I've heard as fun, funky, consistent and melodic. More tomorrow...

Most of all though, this was just the perfect way to begin the tour and experince the album, surrounded by friends I've never met, watching Prince at the top of his game, in front of an arena full of people.

These are indeed good days!
