A Million Days, Cinnamon Girl, and ICPC all sound like hits to me.

"Call MY Name" is clearly the next single! This song will be a R&B/Pop Hit at the sametime!! This song will push Prince through the middle of the summer. Then a MTV Music Award Appearence, then 3rd Single cool

A Million Days is my favourite song on the album, and it would be a perfect single.
I think "What Do U Want Me 2 Do?" could be a very good one.

Illusion Coma Pimp & Circumstance.
With a fine looking video it should become a hit.
It's not my favourite off the album, but it's happy and funky and not like any other Prince-single.
The new single could very well be Call my name (if we believe the sticker on the Musicology cover).

What slow songs released by Prince have ever done well on the charts (in the USA)? Hmm... Not many. Not sure I'd risk fighting those odds.

A Million Days

Since many eyes and ears are on him now, should come with a very strong song. This song has the perfect format for radio- esp the simple lyrics. Not that it matters, but this song has grammy potential

I think this is Prince giving "Dolphin" a second chance. Go for it, Kid.

Gotta Go "A Million Days" Top 40 and "Call My Name" on Rand B stations. That marketing technique worked wonders for the Diamonds and Pearls project (Cream was Number 1 Pop and Insatiable made Top 10 R and B) and I just don't see either song working on the other format. "Call My Name" is a good song but seems like too many of the other ballads that flopped Top 40. Sony has done such a wonderful job so far and they need to keep making good marketing decisions.

As for other songs:

Cinnamon Girl (N0)---Nice poppy feel but the lyrics are very polarizing. Might be too political for an election year that has a country split right down the middle.

Life O' The Party (YES)---Good single that could work mult-format---maybe needs a re-mix. Could he get Outkast to do something on this (he does name-check them after all).

Dear Mr. Man (NO)---Another one of those two political songs, plus doesn't really sound like something that would get a lot of radio play. (Of course, I never thought "Money Don't Matter 2Night" would go Top 30).

ICPC (Maybe)---Wish single...funkiest thing he's done in years. Video could be hilarious.

What Do U Want (Maybe)---I like this song...I really do. Sounds like it could have been made 15 years ago but sounds fresh at the same time. Too quirky for a single probably.

Reflection (N0)---Nice melody but the lyrics are some loopy. Too random free-association for mass appeal.

On the Couch (Maybe)---R and B stations more so than pop.

Okay where does that leave us:

Singles

Musicology
Million Days (Top 40/AC)
Call My Name (RB)
Life O The Party (Multi-Format)

Maybes (depending on continued success of album)
WDUWM2D---(AC)
ICPC(R and B, maybe Top 40)
All good things they say never last...

have to defend "cinnamon girl" again... the more i hear it, the more i like it. it has a great garage band jam feeling about it.

though either "a million days" or "call my name" would be great choices. rainbow

No, Cinnamon Girl is the one. It would get his rock audience back. He needs to stop just pandering to black radio.

When has Prince EVER pandered to black radio. People of all ethnicities listen to R/B, and Prince considers himself black, at the Raleigh show, he constantly referred to himself as "a brother".

"What Do You Want Me To Do" - I've said this time and time again that this song would get much play on R & B Radio, and R&B music is what's dominating the charts right now. I've played this song for the past couple of months where I DJ and the response from this song is incredible, EVERYONE loves it.

"A Million Days" - I love this song. This would probably do pretty well, of course not on the r&b Charts but maybe pop radio and VH-1 viewers would feel it.

>>DEAR MR.MAN=MONEY DONT MATTER 2NIGHT.

Now that you mention it, YES, it does remind me of that!

Anyone else think of The Revolution and Wendy/Lisa when hearing Cinnamon Girl? I think it's his high voice when he sings the lines that start, "Tearful words -- of love 4 people -- she had never met before"... I could swear I am hearing Wendy & Lisa and that The Revolution is back together again.

Or is it just me?!?!
