What's your pick?

I'd go with A million Days- easily accessible, most can relate to its content-add a signature guitar solo and ship to radio!

Your thoughts?

No no no, Cinnamon Girl has the MOST POP potential! I mean, that should have been the first single. Its strong, upbeat tempo and easy to get into. Most of the other songs are WAY too challenging for those Britney Spears, Lil Jon, Linkin Park fans. I'm liking Musicology. I thought i would only like Reflection, but some of the songs are really growing on me, the others are REALLY challenging me...like the COME album did when I first got it. I wished for some heavy guitar stuff though and straight out FUNK with weird sounds and shit.

I'm thinking "Cinnamon Girl" should be the next single! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE "A Million Days", I just think CG has a great / pop-ish sound that will appeal to the average radio listener moreso than "A Million Days".

As for my opinion of the album as a whole - I'm digging it more and more after each listen. There are very few parts that I'm not really feeling and it's really starting to grow on me!

Does Cinnamon Girl remind anyone else of a Paula Cole song? I think its the drums that sound similar.....or is it just me? smile

I'd say "Call My Name". It's "sweet" enough for kids and prom-goers to get into, and gospel-soul enough for the old school. There's a bunch of R&B artists who are having hits with these type of jams. "A Million Days" could also work. It's a strong album.

Who would play A Million Days?

I'm right there with you. I actually like the song, but it's so out of step with what's on the radio these days. Drums are way too low, for starters....

I'd go with Life O' The Party (which I can't figure out why people hate so much, beyond slightly bland lyrics) or What Do You Want Me 2 Do, though it's so classic-Prince-sounding, it might confuse people

Other more-market-targeted singles: Call My Name could be (will be) played on R&B stations, and I really think with a nice, sweet video, Reflection could be an AC/VH1 hit.

I'm pretty sure none of these will be big hits, but I think the album could at least go platinum when people realize what a solid set it is.

I´d go with If Eye Was The Man In Ur Life. It's extremely catchy and funky. Perfect for radio and the music TV channels.

I retract. I guess it would help to give the CD a full listen before I comment biggrin
I've just made it to the end and Dear Mr. Man is my pick for a singles release.

A Million Days is a bit weird for radio (and it is where the CD kind of lags for me, although the song does get interesting).

The next single should be WHAT DO U WANT ME 2 DO, followed by LIFE OF THE PARTY.

I can't believe Dear Mr. Man is getting no love. What do I know?

Could the next single be on the Sony release?

Does anyone else think the juxtaposition of Cinnamon Girl's war torn lyrics and pop instrumental is, i dunno, kinda of discomforting?

BUMPING THIS UP FOR NEW DISCUSSION!

I pick "Cinnamon Girl", hands-down. Why?

1. It sorta sounds like "Cream", one of his last big pop hits.

2. It's very topical right now, and it's political but in a good way (not like "Ronnie Talk To Russia").

I can't believe people are dissing this song!

Pagey

Either ICPC (my fave off the album at the moment or Cinnamon Girl. Both have huge chart potential if you care about that sort of thing. I don't think Million Days has enough to it to attract much attention (even tho I like it).

I would love to hear What Do U Want Me 2 Do on the radio...I am not sure if current radio would play it, but I am totally diggin that old Dorothy Parker feel to it.
