Your Pick for Next Single

What's your pick?

I'd go with A million Days- easily accessible, most can relate to its content-add a signature guitar solo and ship to radio!

Your thoughts?

I agree. A million days is the stand out track for me as far as a single goes.
It's nothing really new but it's catchy and would go well on the charts.
Cinnamon Girl is becoming addictive as well !
I just can't believe all the things people say !

Make that 4 in a row. The next single should definitely be in the rock vein.

I´d go with If Eye Was The Man In Ur Life. It's extremely catchy and funky. Perfect for radio and the music TV channels.

the more i listen to Dear Mr. Man, the more I think it could be a sleeper choice for a single.

It's got an tight, funky groove. But i think it fades out too soon... and at a weird spot.

depends on the format... i think that "million days" would be a great choice for adult rock stations... right now the power ballad is killing the charts... and this one is ten times better than anything they're playing (nickleback, 3 doors down, and creed can all take turns licking my asshole)...

for the hip-hop/ modern r&B stations, i'd have to go with "pimp & circumstance"... it's the most beat heavy song on the cd, and these days these stations seem more concerned with beats than substance (although this track has plenty)... plus it mentions pimpin'... let's prince knock ludi and jon off the charts...

for adult r&b stations, i'd choose "call my name"... these stations thrive on innoffensive slow jams.. and this is a perfect choice...

Either Cinnamon Girl, or The Marrying Kind/ If Eye Was the Man in Ur Life (I think these belong together, like Into the Light/ Eye Will).

I really, really enjoyed these songs.

I can see A million Days working in the US but not in the UK, it's far too ROCK. I can see Cinnamon Girl doing well, but again not great for the current UK market. My faves, What do you want me to do, or Dear Mr. Man would be nice but I doubt they would fly either. Dear Mr man is awesome, one of those tracks that’s so good you'd swear you'd heard it before and had been written years ago.

Who would play A Million Days?

That song is so tired...In fact its the only song that I didn't burn to CD because I thought so

There are hot songs on this disc

Heck I saw two replies about releasing Cinnamon Girl and Call my name to RB stations as an afterthought. Both songs are light years stronger tha A Million Days

The strongest song and there are several on Musicology is "If I was UR Man...." Cross appeal immediately funky and a hook of life. Anybody with a heartbeat would like that song. Its one of Ps biggest strenghts is writing a POP record. An record that appeals to everyone he cearly has returned to form here with that song

I am just really really shocked that the milky "A Million Days" would be the choice among so many of you

Lie 'O" the Party
Call My Name
If I was UR...
Not the Marrying Kind
Whatcha Want me too Do (a great Dorthy Parker type song)

are all better songs that A Millions Days...they have energy and life

One more thing I also don't understand everyones love afair with Reflection...Its average..its Ok...nothing special

I was also shocked with the strength of the Chocolate Invasion!! It is quite good and may have more gems than Musicology.

I'm sure most of you probably like VaVoom which is outstanding but the RB/dance cuts a very very good as well. Although there are moments where P stumbles while rapping

UnderNeath the Cream is a classic Prince record

Sex me / Sex me not & Jasda Smile are hot

both of these records have impressed me and specifically there are strong potential singles from either but as far as Musicology's next single if you really want to slow down some momentum A Millions Days would be a great way to do it

I don't think a million days is tired. It's a good little pop-rock song.

Alexandernvrmind, by "If I was UR Man lasy Night" were you referring to 'If Eye was the man in your life'. Kinda hard 2 tell. It's an okay track, but there are far better singles. Cinnamon Girl and what do u want me 2 do? being two.

I'm surprised you seriously might prefer TCI to Musicology. Vavoom, The Dance, Gamillah, When i lay my hands...they're all good, but some of the others smell of Prince getting bored at his mixing desk.

My opinion, blah-de-blah.

I'm thinking "Cinnamon Girl" should be the next single! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE "A Million Days", I just think CG has a great / pop-ish sound that will appeal to the average radio listener moreso than "A Million Days".

As for my opinion of the album as a whole - I'm digging it more and more after each listen. There are very few parts that I'm not really feeling and it's really starting to grow on me!
