So the Musicology store is “NOW OPEN” and to give Prince his dues it contains more than just the Musicology album. (It actually gives me a chance to catch up with the Year 1 tracks that I didn’t get too.)

Plus for all the newbies who think he’s been silent since “Emancipation”, there’s a whole lot of recent stuff there.

So far so good.

And then he goes and makes available 1 track from an aftershow, previously only available on a bootleg…! WTF!

It’s like I’ve been waiting and waiting and waiting for the Vault to open and then there’s the merest sound of a key being put in the lock to open the door…

and then………………….nothing!

I am not about to list all the potential Vault recordings that could be made available this way, but is this the first sign of better (more open) things to come?

no, its not a sign of the vault being opened. prince knows if he did that, it would put to shame all the newer and crappier songs hes been allowing people to DL since the npgmc began. hence, you will probably never get things like the full rebirth of the flesh rehearsal or anything like that!

*Remembers back to NPGMC year one opening it's doors, we get Splash, thinking "Oooh, finally some Vault stuff" - then really nothing else from pre-95 years (1 rehersal track).

I really wasn't expecting any Vault material at all, and I'm actually really surprised that all the NPGMC material dating back to Year one has been included here.

I'm thinking of throwing my Mac out of the window !
