Any Reno Reports?

Hey everyone....

Did anyone see Reno? All I have heard was that it was good. Does anyone have Setlist or more description of the concert? new material played? Everyone get a CD? Not curious of a review on it...but what did it look like? Was it the same as has been listed? What were your seats like?

do tell. cool

Heres a brief Reno review by me:

Had so so seats, I'm not totally into the round thing. Walked in and was handed the musicolgy cd. Its in pretty generic cardboard cover. Listened to some off it on the drive home. Its cool, but I have to really sit down & check it out. Its definetly all Prince (no live drums, lotsa of synths.

Back to the seats: I do think for a mainstream hits tour like this he is likely to woo audiences (like last night). I was looking at Blackwells back all night (it was cool to see him kick ass from so close). And the band really moves around to work the whole joint. And he had a cat walk on one side of the stage. Alot audio problems, as a professional musician myself was expecting in that situation (really tough audio wise to make the round thing work in a big building-monitoring can be a nightmare). There was a couple times Prince told his sound guy to turn him (in a kind of pist way). Couple times Prince's monitors in his ears/floor fedback and he actually pulled them out pretty pist. I see why he tried this in Reno first-to get the bugs out. I'm from the bay area, and Reno fans are a little strange. i got the impression most of them were there for the hits, there not as hardcore as bay folks. Some songs I don't even think they recognized (Question Of U, the One, Case of U). But I think he really had them in the palm of his hand. Heres a best of my memory set list (probably in wrong order):

Musicology
I would Die 4 U
When Doves Cry
DMSR
Sign O The Times
Shhh
Noon Rendezvous interlude
Beautiful Ones
Insatiable
Question Of U
The One
Nothing Compares To You
Take Me With You
(break)
Acoustic Set (very cool in 360 degree stool with Mic attatched :
Little Red Corvette
Seven
Case of U
Peach
some wierd Concubine song (not my concubine)
Encore
Purple Rain

Wierdest moment was during Question of U he took off a ring from his wedding finger and hand & through it into the audience. Sup with that? Was it real, theatrics with a fake ring, who knows? very odd though. Also my mom pointed out that they transport him from backstage to the round via a shipping box (I kid u not!) The band walks through a entrance that leads under the stage. Then shortly after the sound/stage crew vey carefully transported a box. It was him-wierd.
