add it as the last track. it sounds great on there. go ahead, try it! you'll see.

the style in which it's played and the instrumentation used fits the album perfectly.

i love it. there's that "classic" track for anyone looking for one from Musicology. you just have to add your own wink

and i'm hoping that his contribution to the upcoming Hendrix tribute is a recent recording, rather that one mentioned on the L$1A site in the late 90's, so i can add that too smile

Is that still in the works? I thought that his track had been dropped (wasnt it a reworking of Red House as 'Purple House' rolleyes

That would be great if it still gets released...

for some reason, i remember the original mention of it in the late 90's being Machine Gun, but maybe not.

yes, Purple House is being released on the tribute album. sometime in may, i believe. do a search of "musiq hendrix" in the forums, and you'll find the info direct from the official hendrix page. or just go to the page, i guess.

I remember that too - but I think this whole 'Purple House' thing has been touted since post-Rave era P, then last year when the company concerned released details of the tracklisting, it didnt make the cut?

Im sure Boris would know more bout this.

Im presuming u heard/saw the 'While My Guitar gently Weeps' performance at the RnRHOF?

I can now die a happy and contented man!

yes it was gorgeous. it brought tears to my eyes. THAT is the kind of thing (and maybe Purple House, as well) that's going to get him respect as a guitar god among the general public.

and i'd put it on Musicology too, but i'm wary to include something with Tom Petty on lead vocals. i like him & all, but it doesn't really fit the way Empty Room (and I'm hoping Purple House) does.

True - Ive always loved that song, so 2 see him be a part of it, and literally wring that kind of emotion from his guitar, and bring tears 2 MY eyes too (!) meant a lot. Not only 2 me...but many others too.

George would've been proud, Im sure.

Habibi was a rework of Machine Gun and only the middle solo of that song has been around as an edit on the npgmusiccult
I feel pretty, that's enough
