how many of you all bring some nay-sayer, or some otherwise unitiated to the concert(s) in an attempt to spread the love, or just vindicate yourself for your convictions that prince is the baddest mofo in the land?

spending your own money to bring someone who you have every reason to believe is gonna cramp up your style with their funkless booty, just so you can try to show them how truly good prince is?

once again, in an effort to bring more friends into the fold i'm bringing someone who i just know is gonna get in the way of me shaking my muthafuckin' 'do loose.

damn! sometimes i just think if somebody ain't fightin to go, they just don't seserve to go...
but i always do that, when i much rather be gettin wild with the freaks on the other side.

If they ask me, I try to explain ... but that's all, and I emphasise that it's a personal choice.

If I like chinese food, I don't expect someone else to eat the same, to make me feel 'vidicated' ... I simply accept that I like chinese food and other people have their own tastes.

In a similar way, I have personal views on religion and spirituality, but I was drawn to those because I made certain choices and not because someone preached their ideas and beliefs.

I'm of the view that people are quite capable of making up their own mind on what they like and don't like without the need for someone else to plead a case.

I'm looking forward to bringing my wife to her first Prince concert in August. She likes Prince somewhat, but has only liked a few songs here and there since Purple Rain. I think seeing him perform live might give her a new perspective on his talent.

so i'm sorry that music, spirituality and religion is like chinese food for you, and you don't like to share good things.
and i do wonder what it would be like to form one's views on these things in a vacuum.

in no way whatsoever am i talking about pleading a case, i'm talking about taking them to a show, and letting it plead its own case.

i took a little poetic license with the title of my thread, but thats because most/ all communication is a form of persuasion. i make no bones about it. we all 'preach' something, even if its to say there's nothing worth preaching. this is what happens on 97% of these threads, including your need to tell me that you have no need to convey a point of view.

the whole phenomenon know as prince is a beautiful thang. and yes, i do believe that with enough dangerous conviction to wanna share it. if it was on tv and radio as much as most other shite then i wouldn't bother with trying to expose other friends to it at all.
