Coem on what do you expect - Our country is miles behind the USA wit MTV etc.

Look at the crap we put on - everyone hyped up TRL when it was going to be on here and we all though "here we go..its gonna be great"...its like a crap top of the pops.

VH1 just do back to back videos with no special programmes (apart from Footloose and Whats Love Got To Do With It night after bloody night).

MTV is just as bad - You'd think that even we couldnt fuck up MTV news....wrong!!!!!

we just dont know how to cut it over her for funky tv (LOOK AT THE GRAMMYS!!!!!)

Now if you want to see Kevin Bacon night after night then you're in the right place

I agree, i'll bet they show that next 'Divas' show over and over, It's heartbreaking and frustrating. We so need a music channel for adults in this country. disbelief

music channels have really gone to the dogs in the UK. It just does not seem to be about music at all anymore. I mean tonight there is a Michael jackson documentary for the millionth time. I sent them an email on the 16th asking when they'd show the HoF show but the didn' t respond so I sent them another request as below just now. I guess we just have to keep pestering...

Email I just sent...
Hi,
i sent an email on this topic last week as well but I received no reponse. VH1 usa just aired the rock and roll hall of fame which featured some great artists and performances which should be aired in the UK as well. Tribute was paid to George Harrison, and there were great performances by Tom Petty and Prince. Does VH1 UK have any intention of airing this show in the near future?
many thanks

I emailed VH1 a week ago...still no response. I'll do it again today. I kinda get the feeling that nobody reads them sad The whole VH1 uk site is crap in comparison to VH1.com. Maybe if they get swamped with emails they will actually read some and reply.

I just mailed them this message:
-----

Just a quick check....

...when r u planning 2 show Prince's induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame? I am aware that much of the shows u r airing in the coming weeks are geared 2wards the younger generation (manufactured, diluted, technology-influenced garbage), however maybe some hindsight and 4ward thinking about true musical genius would b a change 4 the better. I appreciated ur Love 4 One Another shows dedicated 2 Prince a few years back, but maybe it's time 2 revisit real music and think about dedicating a show 2 his induction. Maybe taking the lead from VH1.com (where I have managed to catch glimpses of his awesome per4mance) and dedicating a show 2 his induction. After all, his UK following, in my opinion, is his most loyal.

Peace.

martin

Well, I'm out in Thailand so who knows if it'll ever be on here? Thing is, VH! isn't Asian over here in the same way MTV is, with its own Asia-oriented programmes.

Dunno whatchat mean about UK music channels. MTV is crap in any country. The US MTV is full of terrible shows like 'dismissed' and poor programming like 'TRL' and 'Cribs'. Doesn't matter where u are, VH1 and MTV are pretty bad if u're not into appalling pop pap.

If ur into good music and know a little about music, VH1 and MTV don't cut it.

The BBC has a HUGE archive of music programs. They could easily sustain a "BBC Music" tv channel if they wanted to.

They did for a while, kinda. Play UK. It was billed as "Music & Comedy". Some of the music programs were ok and they did have "Rock Profile" whcih was very funny but they gave up after a while, closed it down and opened up BBC3 in it's place.

Why doesn't VH1 answer its email mad I know several people who have contacted them re showing the RRHOF and the response is silence. I just want an answer.... yay or nay.....if its nay I can get the major sulk over and if its yay I can get all excited.

I think the muppets running the channel are totally incompetent. VERY VERY FRUSTRATED UK fan.
