Anyone find it interesting for someone like Prince who is such a crusader for his music, freedom, etc, etc to join a company who has had problems with their own roster of artists over the years ( George Michael, Michael Jackson, The Dixi Chics ) over promotion and ownership?

Is Sony doing things better for their artists? Is that why George Michael has kissed and made up with Sony?

I wonder why the Sony / Columbia deal was the best deal when he was shopping Musicology around? I assume a WB deal fell through because of Master's issues?

Anyone know the nitty gritty?
