Check this Prince item on Ebay - Hilarious Go to ebay and search for "Vanity 6 Live in Concert." A video is being offered for sale of a Vanity 6 concert that supposedly has Prince playing guitar for V6 in disguise. He has on dark blue jeans, glasses and a fake beard. There are one or two picture stills of the video. Pretty funny looking if it is actually him. I have nothing to do with selling this thing. I just ran across it and thought it was funny. | |

I don't know what's up with the auction, but Prince did play for V6. I read he'd "fill" in for V6 and the Time when they all toured together- but like from behind stage, don't know about the disguise. Socks still got butt like a leather seat... | |

Opening 4 the 1999 Tour Concert - November 30, 1982. The 1999 tour featured Prince's music N all its guises: Vanity 6, The Time, & himself. Wearing fancy undergarments, the Vanity 6 girls, augmented by Jill Jones on vocals, did 4 or 5 songs from their album N a brief 20-min. opening set many times with Prince N disguise. Vanity 6 usually went down well with the audiences, although the girls received their fare share of vocal abuse. The critics, however, were merciless N their evaluation of Vanity 6's show, complaining about their weak vocals & stiff movements. N great contrast 2 The Time, who really came alive when they hit the stage. Vanity 6 simply didn't have enough stage presence 2 make it as a successful act 4 which is the greatest factor N their failure. | |
