New Prince Album released Monday!

I just thought I'd point this out.

I don't like anything I've heard from Musicology so far, but we are getting a new album from one of our favourite artists.

At least he's still releasing music, I think maybe some of us fans, myself included have taken this for granted so far - think, at least he's still making music - even if it's not upto the standard we know he can pull off, at least he's still recording and making an impact smile

Prince has been talking a lot about this album, and how "the music comes first"... so hopefully im anticipated a great album.

I wonder when it'll get to Denmark? confuse

Can't say I'm too excited. I haven't even bought News, yet. (I'm not really into instrumental music unless it's by John Williams and performed by the London Symphony Orchestra to accompany a gripping sci-fi flick.)

But I am curious about what he has to say in his lyrics at this point in his career, where he seems intent on making a comeback, so I assume I'll be getting Musicology once it's in stores.

As for whether it charts or not, I don't particularly care. If Prince wants a comeback, then I'll be happy for him if it does chart. But considering that the '80s are all the fashion - certainly here in Europe - I have a feeling a remastered Purple Rain with bonus material stands a better chance of putting him back on top. I honestly think Electric Intercourse would stand a better chance at reaching the charts than the song Musicology.

Anyways, I recently acquired the bootleg Vavoom! containing some of Prince's NPGMC releases and wasn't too impressed by the contents, except for the track Vavoom which I think could have been a chart topper simply because it is extremely catchy - something people can sing along to. So, as usual, I'm kinda baffled by a Prince decision. If he really wants a comeback, why release Musicology when he could've put Vavoom on the album and released that as the first single? confuse

I'm a Prince fan 2, but I can't say I'll buy the Musicology CD if it sounds like the single.

I can't support music I don't like, although I still like the musician.

Prince needs to make better music, sorry.

Judging from the songs I've heard so far (Musicology, a bit of Call My Name, and Reflection), I have a feeling the album's not gonna be anything too special.

I think it'll be solid, but kinda lacking.

Funny, everything I've heard makes me feel like this'll be best one since "The Truth" at least. None of it feels like he's stretching for a hit single (or preaching at us), and most importantly, he seems back in touch with 2 of his best traits--humor and sex.
