Re-discovering Controversy I only had this on vinyl and never took it (apart from the title track and private joy) then my turntable broke and so Controversy became an album i didnt replace on CD.
Having just got it again all I can say is Wow!, i think this album kinda sticks out from the other albums in terms of production and song style, quite off the wall, then u get Do Me Baby thrown in the middle of it all He sounds like a complete nut on some of the tracks. Love it PS. Where there any B-Sides that went along with the singles from this album? [This message was edited Wed Mar 24 20:21:38 2004 by jagshrapnel]

great funk album....after hearing this album.....I WAS HOOKED ON THE PRINCE SOUND AND THERE WAS NO TURNING BACK. CONTROVERSY was the one the funkiest joints I had ever heard. I think I had 2 hear that song 15 - 20 times b4 I could move on 2 any of the other songs on the album. Don't u want to come , 3121. It's gonna be so much fun, 3121. That's where the party be, 3121. Y'all can come if u want to, but u can never leave!

There were no non-LP B-sides to this album. I think WHEN YOU WERE MINE was the B-side of CONTROVERSY. RONNIE TALK TO RUSSIA was the B-side to LET'S WORK, and PRIVATE JOY the B-side to DO ME, BABY. Unless I got those last two switched around. But the 12-inch version of LET'S WORK had GOTTA STOP MESSIN' ABOUT on the B-side, so I take back my first sentence.
