Think Prince Will Ever Do A Straight Rock Project??

After last night's performance, and considering the early, early stuff he did, do you think he'll ever do a straight Rock album complete with rip roaring guitar and soul moving rock ballads?

Well he's certainly done things that *hinted* at this possiblity- THE UNDERTAKER and parts of CHAOS AND DISORDER. Personally I would love it! Let P form a powertrio or maybe a quartet and just GO FOR IT for a year and be raw and nasty like what Bowie did w/ TIN MACHINE.

THAT WOULD RULE!!!

god, i hope not. He's capable of so much more (and far better) than that.

I'd love him to rock hard again. We've had jazz for awhile, why not something with a bit of punch?

If Chaos & Disorder is anything even CLOSE 2 rock - then please...kill me now.

That 'album' (and I use the term very loosely) isnt even good enough 4 me 2 waste time spinning.

Like Marrk said, of course he's got it in him - but we'll never get anything with any 'punch' as it's all 'minor chords and negativity' rolleyes

Besides, if I hear The Ride anytime this side of this mortal coil it'll be 2 soon. Would be nice if he stretched out on a rubber band again!

Live is the closest we ever get 2 anything like that.

You can say what you want, but I actually agree with Okaypimpin. .. whether Prince is capable of better or not. What do you want Prince to do? A TRADITIONAL rock album??? Ain't gonna happen... at least I doubt it.

I would love a rock album from Prince. But as he rarely does an album in just one style - I mean, has he EVER done an album in just one style? - I doubt that we'll ever get such an album. Still, The Undertaker was close. biggrin

Rock is dead, at least as far as being the subject of an entire Prince album released in the mainstream, is my guess.
Maybe a club-released rock project is possible if there's a enough support. I think he might respond if demand were that high. But I don't think it is.
I think he's heading in other directions. But I could be wrong.

Hell, if Prince could pull that off without looking corny, then I'd be all for the experiment.

I sure don't hope so .....

"Chaos and disorder" is a disaster

Prince's weakest site is his rock site .....

Nirvana
Led Zeppelin
Deftones and so on
..... Prince can't do that! He's too clean

Yes .... Bryan Adams, Aersmith, Bon jovi and others wankers ... Prince can do that, everybody can do that, but why you wanna hear that shit?

Prince should record a proper FUNK album

He talked once at doing an album "Produced by Hyndrix" and he did "the Undertaker", which I think was only ever released on a laser disc in japan.

It was released on VHS in UK, and is still quite widely available from UK online stores. I think it was also released in mainland Europe. A boot DVD rip of the LD is available from BRAVE, and it's a great transfer.
