u know what I mean? cuz he's so depressed and feeling shut out through the song, and the only thing that picks him up again is banging the lady cab driver in the back seat of her cab....gotta love it... NO ONE has made a song like that, NO ONE... The Org is the short yellow bus of the Prince Internet fan community.

It's all subjective isn't it.
But it's certainly regarded in very high esteem by myself. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Of course it's one of his best. Where have you been for the last 22 years?

1999 is my favourite album and Lady Cab Driver is definitely a standout track. That part at the end where he is fucking away his fears and insecurities is very much an act of defiance and pretty much a big part of who he is. That theme of insecurity runs through most of 1999 and through much of his career "the beautiful ones, if I was your girlfriend, don't play me, etc)
When I was watching that beautifully over the top guitar solo on the RRHOF show last night I realized that not much has changed since his early years. He might not swear anymore and he has toned down the raunchiness but there here was..still trying to prove to the world that he is the best..STILL DEFIANT. Thank God because that's what RAWK is all about. Most people by that stage in their career seem to forget that. "It ain't over"!!!

At least you had the fine taste to spell it "RAWK".

HELL YEAH!!!!!
This song has damn near everything great about Prince: strong sexual content, storylike lyrics, sound effects, a dark atmosphere (I think of purple & red colors when I listen to this song), a funky ass rhythm, New Wave synths(), a killer rock guitar solo, a funky ass rhythm guitar lick (), and multi-tracked vocals. It don't get much more classic than this tune. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.
