I just got my hands on this videotape. It's mos def a gem to see P and the Revolution practicing
songs like 17 days , all day all night, erotic city, free,doves etc etc. Anyone else know of this tape? Is that one of the wharehouses he would rent to practice in? Approximately when was this? Boris, Neversin??? I'm sure you guys know...

It's the June 7th 1984 rehearsal. They were rehearsing for that nights birthday show (Princes b'day). As you can see they play the rock version of Someting In The Water, his greatest solo ever..next to the Hall Of Fames.

Yes this is one of the warehouse performances. As you can see and hear, Roadhpouse and OPur Destiny ar epretty jammin tunes...you can see where Life Can Be So Nice is sort of in that "warehouse" flavor of those tunes.

Man, the copy of this I have is sooo hard to watch, it's like watching some kind of fifth generation convenience store security camera tape or something...but even though I'm pretty much looking at funky blobs, it's still pretty fascinating stuff.

I am amazed at with even though quality of some of what's out there is really bad...you can still hear the good out of it. I remember when I heard Thieves in the temple (acoustic demo) for the first time. Sounded like P was across the room under a box with an acoustic guitar and it still sounded so sad...it brought tears. Same with There's others here with us and little girl wendy's parade. Genius through the muffle!
