RRHOF clip http://www.tomhouy.com/pr...rrhof2.wmv
It's only Prince's guitar solo from the George Harrison tribute, not the whole performance. The file is in Windows Media Player 9 format, and about 6 megs.

Spank the guitar, and then THROW THE THING up into air, and walk off.

it was a great solo but don't you feel it was a bit hammy. it was tribute to another musician but i think P just hammed it up.

this is exactly what i was gonna say. i just got done watchin it...part of me was like hohner overload!!! but another part of me was screamin quit showin your ass!!! it's almost like the equivalent of...ya'll know those little pageants and plays we used to have in elementary school, for christmas or thanxgiving or whatever other occasion and there's always that one kid who decides to just go and show out onstage? it's sorta like that,

Prince's performance could be perceived as disrespectful as it was a tribute to another musician (George Harrison), but George's own son (who also was on stage playing during the tribute) was shown backstage looking elated and saying, "Where is Prince? I want to give him a hug!" George's son was obviously impressed. Check out The Mountains and the Sea, a Prince podcast by yours truly and my wife. As one of George's fellow inductees, he was the most qualified to take the spotlight. I certainly would have rather watched Prince doing his thing his way than watching a Steve Windwood piano solo. Personally, I don't think he was hamming it up... he's a showman and he does that flashy stuff automatically. If you look past that, you'll see a guitar player inspired by the musicians around him. His solo took Clapton's original (that's Clapton on the original Beatles recording) and takes it somewhere new. He obviously was familiar with the original, since he quoted it many times in his own solo.
