I actually adore the entire Purple Rain extended guitar indulgence on the Prince and the Revolution Live video.

The performance of "Purple Rain" from the last show of the Purple Rain tour is absolutely one of the most amazing guitar performances I've heard.

Guitar-solos (there r 3) on "Whole lotta love" club vega, copenhagen 2002.

Hmmm, if we limit this to official releases, I'd have to say that The Ryde from the Sacrific of Victor video is simply incredible! best version I ever head, and still on that video, his solos on Call the Law are stunning too, and hisfacial expresions crack me up at the same time! Joy in repitition was amazing too..

On boots that I've head, Rave un2 from the 88 rotterdam aftershow - absolutely manic and masterful!! Also more recently and again from Rotterdam was the last ONA aftershow playing ?of u medley - just sublime!!!

All of the above plus Purple house on the rave DVD.

I would like to add "Just my imagination" on a Lovesexy Paris aftershow boot.."Small club". So beautiful, you'll cry.
And his "Purple Rain " solo on the "Viva Las Vegas" boot.
I've dug so may "Purple Rain" solos over the years...from the previously mentioned Syracuse show up to the Rave dvd....just when I thought his soloing couldn't get any more majestic, I heard "Viva Las Vegas".
That changed my mind
