LAWD! over 15 hours later and still hittin the rewind button. He tore it up ya'll! All of you guys should be proud, we all stood by him. Now the entire music industry heard Prince's rebirth into the respectful status he deserves.

I forgot who said it, but I agree, last night from here on out, will be referred to as 'THE SOLO'

It's a wrap! but...It Ain't over!

It was a stunning performance. You notice how he seemed to include virtually all his flashy bits and poses? Like running his hand up the fret board real quick and then back, tilting the guitar upto the mike to get feedback, kneeling down with it, playing it on his back virtually, striking that pointing upto the sky pose with the highest notes possible, tapping on the strings to get a stranger sound, playing only with his left hand on a few notes, even putting it upto his mouth like he was gonna do a jimi and play with his teeth, and other stuff too - it was like he managed to compress everything he's ever done into a 2 minute solo!

And the attitude at the end was great, that's what you need, an attitude and adrenaline to get the most out of the solo - I wish he'd put more of this attitude into his album releases. There was something so cool about being in the company of a room full of the greatest musicians around and just blowing them all away!

I wish everybody in the world could see this performance! I sent a clip to a non-fan but was into the Beatles, and he said it sent shivers down his spine!

That's kind of my point, Serena. Other things to do. Prince snubbed the other folks because he had "other things to do." A reception? Another show? To me, it's just tacky. He always has to be the cherry in a celeb sundae. That's what put me off.

I'm not trying to take anything away from his talent. He's a wonderful performer. But his not being around for the finale or mingling backstage with the other folks, to me, seemed to contradict his speech references to friendship. Fact is, he has a record for being a no-show in that kind of scene. Maybe he's not as changed as we've been giving him credit.

oh you reeeeeally need to get over it...rolleyes

For tha folks that think he was rude for upstaging everyone else....get a life or two. HE IS A ROCK STAR FOR REAL! I am so glad he didn't hold back and play some one off solo. He was hot all night, shoot, the Sign o the Times solo was no joke. This solo was the beyond words for me. It didn't make me want to put my axe down but pick it up and I believe that is Prince's aim at this point. Dave Navaro tried to dog Prince by mocking Prince saying "I can save music.." when the truth is he can and I think this year he'll be making that statement every chance he gets.
Who ever said Prince has lost it - has lost it. The Kid's still got game!
