Vegas Big Band Family Gig...Prince and the NPG!

That's what it is today...like Shybee said retrict it to the funk...the basics...

That is why I miss the days of the Gold experience which I never saw live...that band that album...

I do totally agree with Shybee...we are not in Vegas and are not living in the 70's...and Prince is not Elvis...

Get back to Funk and Funkadelic is something totally different, they exchange the instruments on stage and keep it basic...drums, guitar, bass, Horns(tight...and "slim"), keyboard and it funk this mother out...big time...Prince right now is a family gig...it is clean and it is a memory deal... .
It's like that: "Listen son, this guy used to sing about masturbation, but do not tell your mama..."

America you are f***** conservative right now....that country is bringing war around the world and claim to be righteous and clean...but without pure sex we all wouldn't be here...and for that it does take lust and a bit of anger and a bit of need.

Remember to become mature it needs experience and that means pratice.... You know... one needs to know how to make love and how to prevent pregnancy...

Come on... we are in the year 2004....

Get wild and loose...

Peace

and keep the funk...

I totally agree with Handclaps, and I will also add this. Why are you making it sound like a musician can't be good if he doesn't swear, or use sexual lyrics, or do drugs or alcohol? Now I kind of understand more why prince is making such a drastic change in the way that he showcases his music, because like he said it's not cool anymore when everyone is trying to do it and they aren't that talented. They try to curse or take their clothes off to attract attention that they would not normally get. Think about it on this note. Have you ever noticed that the less and lees a females albums sells, the more and more clothes she takes off.Prince is about the music, and if you don't like the music or the religion, and the non sex or swearing their is alot of other artists out there that you can listen to. I can still smell the funk....

Anxiety

If you want young angry music, listen to young angry musicians...or better yet, listen to Prince's young angry albums! He's not at that stage in his career right now, he's on to other things. It is what it is, and if you can't appreciate where he is right now, then there's a lot of other music out there to explore. Ya know?

Somehow my fingers ran quicker and mixed things up a little, but why is he going on the smoth tip now..."Radical Man 20:45" is a radical song...never heard it live. All I miss is the anger that he expresses in those songs... .

Additonally I cannot accept that someone cuts himself of his past that way... maybe I am stubborn, I don't want him to curse. Days of Wild is a wild song, so is Erotic City...that's all I wanna say and for some reason his becoming a grown up man relates to a country which is becoming so clean and without lust... I get shivers when I think about the suppression that is needed to do so...to suppress oneself..

Peace

Juize

Don't get me wrong...please I do not want him to curse or swear to be a musician...but you know....smile.

see that? that's exactly it right there. HE IS GROWN NOW. it don't matter where you come from, where you're at, what you've done--we all grow up and we all don't act and think the same as we did when we were younger.

what is hindering you from seeing the obvious, besides your ill-thought and tired "america's not nasty anymore" spiel?

I think he was more mature, honest and in touch with his real self when he was 20. Going from being an open minded person sexually to being an extremist religious bigott is not what I call growing up. Juize just makes the point that this development is reflected in his music. From cutting edge to Vegas sell out.
Just my opinion.

As people go through life, they pick up on limits.

These limits will hinder or forward output and/or interaction with the outside world.

Pros and cons to an idividual's case are definately going to effect all that pay attention. If you decide to get on that ride, it is entirely up to you. Therefore, the paths that are crossed within these limits will have a great impact on all parties involved. When the ride is over, then it's over. It's up to those involved to stay on that path, or grasp another for a different ride. Then, there is the other alternative to make your own path for which no blame is placed. Only on what you have chosen. That's an abyss. But it's yours.
