Prince could have had a P-Funk empire.

Maybe this has been discussed too much but do any of you find it unfortunate that Prince didn't take advantage of the talent around him? I think Prince could have had empire similar to the P-Funk one led by George Clinton in the '70s. Many of the players who backed Prince or were associated with him were very talented but it seems like he drove nearly all of them away.
Obviously Jam & Lewis are very successful but I think there were many more people who could have had similar success with a little help from Prince. It's too bad that Prince isn't more of a team player. I'm sure that he would have benefited from being more collaborative. Of course wiwith everything that Prince accomplished you could make the argument that he was as good as, if not better than, P-Funk but I think that if he worked with people more often we would have gotten more great music.
