LA Show Proves it- Prince Is The One True Pimp

Just saw the screening. Prince is...how should I say this; BAD. It's like he's been around doing arena tours for the past 10 yrs. I truly have no idea how to describe this concert, except to say that he was in truly superb form. Seeing it on the screen gave you a different perspective, I think. Cause from where I sat, the first thing I thought was "damn...this is what every pimp and player in the game aspires to be."
Prince was in control. He controlled the band, the crowd, the party. This was his shit, and he let it be know.

Highlights:

All of that damn funk. And the acoustic set. The bomb.

Most touching moment: Sometimes It Snows In April-very heartfelt, and dedicated it to David Coleman. I have to admit, when it was over, I realized that I was grabbing the armrest so hard I thought I broke it. One of the very few moments that I have been touched by a song to the point of holding back something.

Bottom line-I'm tired as fuck (can I say this? will the moderators lock this thread?), but rest assured...Prince is back. This shit is going to bring him back to the top, no doubt. And as far as the new CD, I have heard it and now understand the reviews. Some people live in the past, others look forward and accept change. Period.

Sorry...I was gonna write down a setlist, but after the first song, I was like, "fuck it!" Suffice it to say, he gave what he promised...a greatest hits set, played a few songs from the new CD, and showed why he is still very relevant today. I mean, there were no real surprises. Just tight ass playing, great arrangements, Prince was obviously in a great mood and was moved by the crowd at his kick-off concert. Put it this way; I lefc thinking that this concert would make a great Live DVD, as the performance was flawless, and this is what people expect to see when they go see Prince. This shit was a straight up party.

Damn, I agree. He tore it up and turned it out in LA. That was an incredible concert. I felt like I was there from watching it at the theater with such amazing picture and sound...damn, damn, DAMN.

He's back...2nite proved it. No one controls the house like this man. That's why we love him.

CD's pretty good 2 (after one listen). Much better than some of our nay-saying, knit pickers want 2 make us believe it is.
