Uh...I think you got it twisted. It's EWM's et.al view that seems limited and Psykosouls seems mature/sensible at the very least. I don't mind being "shamed" if it means being in agreement with psykosoul in this matter.

Your opinion isn't what is tired and played out. It's the logic. If Prince has been that fucking terrible for so long and you're still here on a daily basis to let the world know it then why keep setting yourself up for disappointment. In my opinion Prince's music hasn't been as much fun as it was back in the day. However, if I thought it was complete shite, and sucked donkey dicks etc. I would simply shut the fuck up, let the man play what he wants to play and enjoy my copies of the classic music.

And before you retort with that this is a free country, this is the world wide web where opinions come a dime a dozen, respect my individuality ... please spare me. I and others here would respect your opinion and the rest of the drama-queen/attention seeker opinions more if you could actually stop your obsession with Prince's music. If you don't like the recent music, fine. But you make yourself look like an idiot by griping year after year. You also come across as more idiotic than the ones who are possessed by the Purple Kool Aid and are afraid to be critical of Prince.

"Prince and his music sucks and it has for years blah blah blah and my dumb ass is still getting tickets to the show...But he still sucks" Please. It's the first quarter of 2004. Please stop frontin' because you have it seem to have it confused. Prince's music just might suck dick. But you can't seem to stop riding his. Good Morning?

That seems very familiar. hmm biggrin

Yeah, and he played TWO new songs. Besides, if you read the thread Evil started on the show, you'd understand why he went, and maybe you'd learn a thing or two about individuality.

Oh please. Did YOU read? The statement covered that he may play his old stuff in the way he EWM dislikes and he may play new music which he dislikes. So all bases were covered. In essence its EWM just batchin n batchin then having the gall to go to a show showing his hipocrisy (sp?). As psykosoul has brilliantly pointed pout up above.

Where's the Hypocrisy? (note the proper spelling)

I never said I hated Prince and felt he was incapable of doing some good things. The show proved that he can. Besides, like I said before, my friend had an extra ticket and she was generous enough to give it to me. It's not like I became an NPGMC member and bought one for $77. So suck on that.

Yes. biggrin

Now, I can only speak for myself, so that's what I'm gonna do. biggrin

I love Prince's music. I m a fan. If it is my opinion that, say, The Rainbow Children was a godawful piece of work, I'm gonna say "I think it sucked" every time someone brings it up. And why shouldn't I? Certainly those who likes it speaks up. And if they can't handle a contradictory opinion, then I feel sorry for them. biggrin

If I don't like where Prince is at, then why am I here? I have several reasons - first and foremost is to have fun with my fellow Prince fans in the General Discussion area. Another is to keep up on information on stuff that he did that I liked and to join in on praise threads of the classic tracks. A third is that I hope Prince will make a better release in the future and I am here looking for signs of directions that might please the fan in me. biggrin

If my presence and opinions are not to someone's liking, what's it to me? Their opinions aren't to my liking, either. I don't ask them to go away. biggrin

So I shouldn't be here because I have a mind of my own - an opinion of my own, and someone doesn't like the fact that we all aren't of one mind? Well, get used to it. That's life. biggrin

If you don't like ripples in your water, I understand there aren't any at the NPGMC. So go there or stay here and welcome the diversity. But don't you dare tell anyone who consider themselves to be a fan of Prince that they do no belong here. Who are you to make that call? Shame on you. biggrin

No no no, you can olny praise Prince constantly on this site, according to some members. If you criticize him it means your ignorant and don't know shit about shit. How dare you try to object to Prince's "journey". wink

ell, if I felt the need to tell NPGMC, I would. But I don't. Why would I? If Prince is not all about Head and songs like that anymore, that's fine. If that's not what he represents musically anymore then I have the common courtesy not to run over there and spark conflict over it. That's a reason many folks got banned over there from the forums. The rules of time, place anWd manner were laid out from get go. Some may see it as censorship and prevention of freedom of speech or whatever. Does that make me a mindless sheep for having common courtesy? batting eyes

First and foremost, I'm not telling anyone they shouldn't be here. My main point is that we all or at least 90% of us are here because we are fans of Prince's music. And really this goes for those who are fans of the current output and those who aren't: If you can't express yourself without anything substantial to say or with reason, then you (and I say you in general not you personally) can't expect anything you say to hold weight. For instance, which sounds like a more logical argument:

'I hate cigarettes because their fucking stupid' or 'I don't like cigarettes because of their harmful effects upon the lungs and heart'. Which argument holds more weight? Now I'm not saying that folks don't have a right to say 'It's fucking stupid because I fucking say it is' but those comments have more of a reflection of what kind of idiot they really are.

I don't mind ripples in the water. And I don't despise those who don't agree with everything Prince has done. I just hate the lack of common sense.
