The only problem that I have with anything that Prince has released since Emancipation is the quality of the music. I really do not care what he sings about. Let's be realistic, 95% of the lyrics out there are crap. But I really believe that Prince is capable of creating better music. I will agree that his newer stuff is unfairly dismissed but I think if he would slow down just a little bit his work would be better for it. Wouldn't you all prefer it if Prince didn't release anything for two years but when he finally did it was killer? I love Prince's music. I m a fan. If it is my opinion that, say, The Rainbow Children was a godawful piece of work, I'm gonna say "I think it sucked" every time someone brings it up. And why shouldn't I? Certainly those who likes it speaks up. And if they can't handle a contradictory opinion, then I feel sorry for them.

If I don't like where Prince is at, then why am I here? I have several reasons - first and foremost is to have fun with my fellow Prince fans in the General Discussion area. Another is to keep up on information on stuff that he did that I liked and to join in on praise threads of the classic tracks. A third is that I hope Prince will make a better release in the future and I am here looking for signs of directions that might please the fan in me.

If my presence and opinions are not to someone's liking, what's it to me? Their opinions aren't to my liking, either. I don't ask them to go away.

So I shouldn't be here because I have a mind of my own - an opinion of my own, and someone doesn't like the fact that we all aren't of one mind? Well, get used to it. That's life.
