My math is screwy....Prince moved up one spot to 15 while
Shania moved 3 spots to 16, yet Prince is the "Greatest Gainer"???

confuse
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

I guess people still do care about Prince. I know none of us bought that garbage.

What the hell does that mean "Top Pop Catalogue Albums"?

These sure as hell aren't the current top sellers.

I'm sorry, did that somehow answer my question, or were you just agreeing with me that this list makes no sense? smile

You answered your own question, but didn't realizes it. smile Catalog bestsellers are non-current albums in an artist's discography that are selling enough to be listed on that chart.

I remember when The Very Best Of Prince was new; Purple Rain re-entered the Catalog Albums chart for a while. And Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon has made its home on this chart for decades.

Catalog albums are 2-year-old titles that have fallen below No. 100 on The Billboard 200 or reissues of older albums. Weeks On Chart column reflects combined weeks title has appeared on The Billboard 200 and Top Pop Catalog Albums.

but these albums can't ever appear on the regular billboard hot 200 again...lets say everybody rushed to the store and bought 1 million Prince best of cd's this week..well you would figure that's more than enough to hit #1 on the regular album chart? nope because of billboard's stupid rule they can only appear on the catalog chart....i have seen the actual soundscan chart in the past before billboard gets to it and puts things in their own catagory and you have albums like Saturday Night Fever & Darkside of the moon outselling newer albums..but you would never know that because they are removed from the billboard top 200 chart and placed in the catalog chart
