I just heard on the radio that Prince is coming to Phila. on Aug. 22. I heard it on the Wendy Williams show about five minutes ago. She said that tickets go on sale next month, but the station will be giving some away.

P.S. he will be playing the Wachovia center. I'm pumped.

I was bummed ONA never made to Philly, but am glad Prince has let go of whatever grudge he had against Philly in the 90s.

ipav, sucks that you missed the shows he did at Eletric Factory, First Union, and The Academy of Music over the last 5 years....the Hit and Run Academy of Music show in 2001 absolutely, positively rocked....not sure why ONA didn't hit here, but i snuck down to DC and caught it!

I was hoping for a smaller venue like the Sovreign Bank arena in Trenton, NJ (25 min. north of Philly) which would be perfect where every seat in the arena is an excellent seat. The Wachovia Center sucks for concerts as it's just too damn big!! However, I'll take it. I think I'll drag my 13 yr.old daughter along for the experience.

I heard the same thing from my husband! Great news! However, I'm shocked that he's playing at the Wachovia-as large as it is. Thought he said that the venue would be in the "round" format.....still may be i guess but they can really pack the house in at the Wachovia. Plan on going but nothing will compare to the private after party i went to when he last performed at the FU center. It was held at Egypt on Delaware Ave.! It was great! Something I'll never forget and nothing will live up to that show!

tpzlamont, your wife was correct. The tickets go on sale Monday the 22nd for non members.I'm assuming that members tickets will be going on sale any day now. Sorry for the mistake.
