how things change & who decides

i've been following & loving P's music since i was 9-10 y.o. cool
i've witnessed his golden years and later on his decline in POPularity and sometimes in songwriting and when no1 was paying attenction 2 him i was 1 of the few still listening 2 him (especially here in italy).
now in the amount of time of not more than 3 months the media decided that P is the ultimate rock star, the iconoclast of the millenium and after being banned from tv & radio he is back as he's always been there...next step will be MTV (who hates him as he said once). i'm not protesting 4 this, it's just that it seems 2 me an odd mechanism how things work in this system...when was all of this decided? did it envelope naturally or some1 knew that this play was gonna take place at some point? hey don't misunderstand me i'm not talking about any conspiracy theory confused or crap whatsoever....prince has been highly estimated worldwide even when he was at his worst 4 what concerns music & fame...but i find that there's something artificial about this comeback...2 me it's more likewise that some1 has decided that is the right time 2 put his royal badness out of the vault again (cause it's a good deal?because now he's fashiony?) rather than he is coming out of his own embargo.
besides his music and his vision of life, maybe 1 thing that we fam appreciate (at least i do) in the man is that he's such an EVENT itself that it's possible 2 c different aspects of life right through him eek (again don't misunderstand me i'm not stating he's the messiah but i'm sure some1 out there understand my point)...I might be wrong but this prince talk that's been on lately smells a bit of rotten, just like nowadays world...he truly is a sign of the times!

B prepared....

P.S. despite of what i've just written i can't wait 2 listen 2 musicology & c him on stage

monte

it's him

it's because he is promoting the past in a way that says hey i'm a mature old guy so he gets massive respect. he's changed his name back and in the eyes of the public he isn't wacky. suddenly he is one those great old rock stars who is a normal guy now. but of course this can all change with muiscology.

either they like it and he is an old rocker who is still rocking hard with new music
or he is on some tangent so no one wants to notice him at all

then again if musicology is only being released through NPGMC then nothing might change

When you get nominated and then inducted into the RRHOF people who aren't necessarily serious music fans have a habit of rediscovering you. And critics have a tendency to re-evaluate your career and discography. Not to mention it's the 20th anniversary of his most famous album, and he's trying to get major labels to distribute his upcoming album while undertaking a tour. All this creates a reawakening for people who were once casual fans and have no clue what he's been up to in years.
This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.
