NOW (Original Version)

Hey, does anyone else prefer the original version of NOW that prince performed around 1994-1995 where the music is much funkier and has the sample "Come on, come freaks on the floor!" throughout?

It sounds a lot better than the version on The Gold Experience!!!!!

The version on The Gold Experience IS the original version.
The subsequent live renditions are pretty close to the album version except for a slightly
different shorter intro which used the full chorus sample.

I was gonna say that I know for a fact that the "Come on, Come on...Freaks on the Floor!" part is on TGE, b/c it makes me wet my pants I love it so much. GREAT fucking song. This would have to be my all-time favorite Prince period, I think...especially live...this is when I should have seen him. Ah well...I'm pretty goddamn lucky to have the chance to see him at ALL. wink
No confusion, no tears. No enemies, no fear. No sorrow, no pain. No ball, no chain.

I COMPLETELY see how U feel. I feel EXACTLY the same way. Not the whole creaming in my pants and everything. But that album get's me in a good way when I listen to it all the way through. I'm really good by time NOW comes around and takes it over the top when he starts screaming and shit.

I like the Beautiful Experience version too, but don't doubt Snr. Fishpaw, he's the bee-knees of Prince info biggrin

The original version is the album, recorded 1993 if memory serves.

I always thought that in the live version of Now, that little dance that Prince does on the:

"Come on, come on...freaks on the floor"

...is frickin marvellous.
