Alright, guys. Firstly, I am not asking to receive a bootleg. Secondly, this is probably a really stupid question. Now that that's outta the way,

Is there a good-quality version of "All My Dreams" circulating? How widely known is it, if it indeed does exist?

And lastly, am I that much of a gimp because I don't know?

Yeah, there's a practically CD quality version out there...
I first came across it on a boot called 'Fantasia', so it's bound to be on 'The Work' too.

The version on Fantasia is ever so slightly clipped at the start, but I think it is the best quality version.

It's easy to take the clipped couple of seconds from the Dream Factory version, boost the levels a tad, and cross-fade it into the start of the Fantasia version in a program like Sound Forge to give the best quality full-length version.

If I can find some webspace to host it, I have a Prince Megamix that I did and I've included , among other songs, In All My Dreams....It's mixed with the drums from Release It and while it's not what you're looking for, I think it makes the quality sound a bit better as it's mixed with an actual released song with good quality.

I'm not crazy 4 this song...don't know why all the other seem 2 like it very much...IMHO it's ok but not that great track...but anyway it's just my opinion

IN ALL MY DREAMS is another amazing track!!!!!

I have the Fantasia 3CD set though but I don't recall it being fantastic quality. IT's good but not CD quality.

I love that song. The only copy I ever got it on was The Jewel Box, and the sound quality was a bit lousy, I stopped buying bootlegs about 10 years ago.

Yes, I think the best place to find it is the Dream Factory boot. However IMO even that one is missing something on the beginning. I mean where is that piano from? Anyhoo…doing the sound clipping thing is not worth it…it’s like a second of music…a piano plink. I also think that the DF version is slightly better quality that fantasia…but it’s only from what I remember.

A carnival of a song. And the reason so many people like this song, I think, is that it’s like computer blue’s cousin. Wendy and Lisa are all over it and Wendy has a speaking part. It’s clocks in at about 7 minutes. ALSO the whole “play my record double speed…” part where there is a whole other song contained if you speed up the record. (check prince riddles thread to see what he says). Lyrics are amazing imo. Very trippy. With a lines like “Africa, Captain Crunch, Norma Jean, Sex and Cherrios”…I can see how this can be a favorite. Also has one of the best lines at the end…the famous “goodness will guide us if love is inside us..” and end with “don’t ever lose your dreams”. A very uplifting song that is quite happy…and very dense and complicated in it’s structure. Is there anything missing from that song? I think the kitchen Sink is in there somewhere.

It’s so over the top, I can see where some may not like it.

The one on the CHARADE bootleg is around the first time the track was leaked. IT's most definately one of the worst quality versions!!!!! Since then better quality copies have appeared on bootlegs.

Moonraker, Sabotage and Thunderball always manage to track down better quality versions for their releases or clean up the original sound quality with good software!!!!!

I have this as a bonus track on my Black Album boot along with the original version of Old Friends For Sale. Both tracks are ok quality. I would assume that better quality versions have been circulating though.
